I'm a 30 year old gamer who grew up on a steady diet of RPG's. I spent at least 3 years playing Ultima 6 over and over again and cried when Ultima 7 exceeded my PC's specs (386sx 20mhz...). When Oblivion was released I thought that the traditional EPIC roleplaying game was dead. With every character using speech instead of text the game lost the depth and immersion that was the hallmark of the RPG's that I grew up with. Two sentences of recycled speech instead of a paragraph of text? It was like going from a novel to a picture book. I thought that the EPIC RPG was going to die just like the adventure game had.
Until now.
Even though speech is used throughout the game, DA-O captures and retains the feel and depth of the RPG's that I loved as a kid. That is some sort of modern gaming miracle!
To anyone and everyone involved with the production of this game - THANKYOU!
Thankyou!

I guess that with Mass Effect and Dragon Age, Bioware can be considered a worthy succesor of Origins when they (Origins) used to say "We create worlds". Indeed they did with Ultima and Wing Commander series, and now Bioware has given us two amazing settings in those jewels that are ME and DA:O. Great work guys, really.

Seeing as how there are threads going for pages and for days with nothing good for the writers and developers to see, it's always good to see one of these. Maybe it can actually go on for awhile.
My thanks added as well.

Simply the best RPG ever.
It combines the playability of Baldur's Gate or Ultima 7 with the most sophisticated story telling, gameworld and dilemmas I've seen yet.
Thank you, Bioware.

You know Belevorn, I was thinking the same thing the other day. Gaming became a dimmer place for me when Origin died. (I was a massive Wing Commander fan, loved Privateer especially) I never played much Ultima, but Bioforge, Wing Commander, the Crusader games, all of them amazing work, and they made you feel they really did "create worlds". Untill I found Bioware (my first Bioware game was KotOR on the X-box, followed quickly by NWN on the PC, and the Jade Empire on X-box, then Mass Effect) I never found anyone else who truely "created worlds" (exceptions being Warren Spector's people at Ion Storm (with Deus Ex) and the System Shock games (which again, was Origin).
Thank you for all that you do for us, and thank you for DAO. I'm waiting anxiously for ME2.

Yes, good to see that too and i will add my thanks. The game is amazing. It gave me more than 80 hours of pure joy and entertainment like i haven't had with a game for years. Despite the little bugs and things that could be done better, this game is huge. It's an amazing piece of art that deserves to be appreciated the proper way. I hope you keep up the good work Bioware and give us a lot of sequels to this beautiful and rich story.

Great game, even better than the old classic Baldurs Gate. Been through twice now for two completely different experiences. Too cool. I'm a little jaded with it now but suspect I'll replay many times. At least another 4 times anyways. Cheers, Bioware, and well done!!!

same here
ive liked everything ive seen so far. the "old republic" series that they set up is amazing. its less like other star wars things where if your not a die hard fan, you have no idea whats going on.
tor's world is more like an amazing rpg anyone can enjoy, that happens to be star wars based.

I love this game! It's like reading a really good book and playing an awesome game at the same time. The only tiny minus is the silent protagonist, but I understand why they did this.Love the detail in the world and how it's not a game that's "like Forgotten Realms, but a bit different".

They were called Origin. No "s" at the end.

I must add to this thread. Thank you so much developers for such an in depth and emotionally moving game. I can't tell you how many times I have cried through various cutscenes (Elves & Werewolves, Caelen on the battlefield, Duncan when he realizes that the troops aren't coming). I simply just fall to pieces. Even just typing this makes my eyes well up with tears. I've always maintained that Oblivion is the best RPG ever made. It is the only game where I have every single achievement. That's how much I loved it and Dragon Age has superceded Oblivion. I never thought that would happen until The Elder Scrolls V was released. Bethesda Softworks be damned, BioWare kicks major arse.
Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with this game. Thank you for the time and effort that was put into this game. I can tell that is was very well thought out. Thank you especially for not making my choices be so black and white. Thanks for the tears. Thank you for a medieval setting as well, I hate this futuristic theme everyone is moving to for RPGs. Yuck.

No doubt the game is awesome. Still some things I'd like changed to make it better in my eyes, but overall it's definitely one of the best games I've played in years.
