Apparently you get more dialogue options and can even get him to teach you the Champion specialization, but it doesn't seem like his status ever changes no matter how much approval you have with him.
Is there any way at all to get Friendly status with Loghain?

You need to either use the console or ejoslin's ZDF mod. The Loghain friendly file is optional, so you must download it separately. For the record, the differences are minor, just a few small changes in about two or three conversations (though one of them is very meaningful). Also, he doesn't teach the Champion spec.

Alright, alright, second question. I know how to access my Dragon Age updater, but where exactly do I put my mods after I download them so that my updater will detect them?

This mod is an override type of mod, just drop the files into your BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override folder (located in My Documents on XP and... well, I don't know about Vista or 7, I assume My Documents as well).

I put the files from the ZDF folder into override, but the updater still won't recognize it. Probably a dumb question, but will the folders turn into zips after I put them in the override? It seems like the updater will only read zips like the fade skip mod.

They won't be read by the updater, but as long as the files are extracted into the override directory, they are the ones that will trigger.
However, if Loghain is already warm for you, he wont' change to friendly. The change I make to his file so he can update to friendly happens at warm.

Ahh, I see. So I just move your ZDF mod file into the override and the fixes will work without using the updater?
I think thats why I got different dialogue just now by Zevran and Shale at the gates of Denerim. I moved the folders into the override before I began playing just now. So they're already in effect, I see. If so, thanks for the advice. Will Awakening mods also work in the same override folder?

It depends on the mod. If it's a .dazip type of mod, you need the updater (or a custome installer). If it's an override type of mod, then yes, just dropping them in the override folder will work.

Hmmm, how do I know if the fix is working? Cause I am not sure. Are the differences in convos such as after Riordan telling us how to kill an archdemon?
What are the differences in general?
