Avatar. OMFG. It is basically Pocahontas with blue cats. Dragged out over 3 hours. Then they released an EXTENDED EDITION? Excuse me while I die slowly in the back of the cinema.

Dances with wolves. Couldn't get into it.
Personally, I loved Dances With Wolves; even liked The Postman and sorta liked Waterworld. But Wyatt Earp had me aching to leave well before the conclusion. It, much like Star Trek: The Movie, both seem to fare better given some commercial interruptions, IMO.

The Dark Knight. I don't necessarily hate it but I can't understand all the praise it has received. In my opinion Burton's Batman is far better. Again, it's not really a bad movie, just overrated.
Some of Stanley Kubrick's movies. Personally I only consider Space Odyssey 2001 to be worth the praise most Kubrick's movies get. Dr. Strangelove hasn't aged well at all. The Shining is in my opinion one of Kubrick's worst movies, without Jack Nicholson it would have no appeal at all. Most people love Full Metal Jacket, but I only really enjoyed a few scenes of it - like the one with private Pyle going nuts and the ending. Clockwork Orange is in many ways a great movie, but not worth all the praise it gets.
Pulp Fiction. I have no explanation why I don't like it; I just don't. One reason might be that it doesn't move me emotionally or intellectually. Tarantino definitely shows his talent, but his way of telling story isn't anything spectacular enough to blow me away. Maybe someone could try to explain to me why it's so great?

The vast majority of Academy Award nominess over the past several years have little to no interest for me. There are exceptions, but generally I have not - nor care to watch - these films.

"Edward Scissorhands," without a doubt. I've never cared much for Tim Burton's work at all, and "Scissorhands" was the worst. There was just so much waste in the movie, so much left without detail that left only vague truths explained to present the character and the surroundings.
Meaninglessness at its best, to be sure.

The Godfather. Didn't hate it, but it couldn't come close to matching the hype. It felt especially flat since I'd watched it after The Wire. I know that TW probably owes a debt to TG, nevertheless, as a film considered apart from its illustrious descendants, it wasn't all that.
I don't much like the Lord of the Rings films. Prefer the books. Plus, I can't stand Elijah Wood's baby blue-eyed Baggins.
(Films I love include Pan's Labyrinth, The Lives of Others, Monty Python and the Holy Grail...)
