Are they staying, going? If they're going to go, I do hope you continue to support NWN1 with the new forums; ancient as the game may be there're plenty of people (like me!) who still play it.
What's happening with the old forums, then?

The BioBoards will be shut down over time. The DA boards are first to go (initially at release, next attempt Nov 17), then probably ME(2). The others will follow sometime in the future.

My own take is that this hasn't been fully planned out. Everything about what has happened so far looks as if it's been a day to day project, seldom looking past the next hurdle. EA apparently wants control of the forums on its own servers; eventually, every Bioware gaming forum will almost certainly be gone. Whether something replaces it here on the social forum site will probably depend on the financial bottom line.
If the EA bean counters think that the cost of continuing a forum of any sort for the original NWN will be outweighed through potential income based on acvtivity there, it will be supported with a place(s) here. I imagine that many of Bioware's forums will totally disappear, especially all of the various archived ones.
(P. S. added in Edit): It's not exactly as if the older Bioware forums were anywhere close to being up to date, you know. They have been way overdue for replacement with something newer for several years now! Not that I've come to terms with the eyesore color scheme and page layout of the new place, yet, though.
