Only click the link if you have played both Mass Effect 1 and 2 to completion.  There are minor, inconsequential spoilers, mostly related to ME1.

Anyway, I would normally not give a thread like this any thought, but for some reason I have a gut feeling this one is true.  What do you guys think?

Edit: An interesting find from another poster in this thread:

Seems bogus to me. None of it feels anything more like simple inference that any person could've made.

First I dont think many people would be willing to risk their job to spill secrets like this, and second it seems like almost anyone could come up with this.

Everything mentioned in there has been discussed on our very forum. And this isn't the "story"; just the Reapers' supposed motivations and intentions

OK lets take it seriously for few seconds.

Why these Creators arent doing anything to stop Reapers? If they are that powerful they can stop them and not just wait until they became a real threat. It just doesnt makes sense.

oh wait...

And it sounds like something from another very popular series but I dont want to spoil for someone.

Sounds bogus. If it's true, it sounds weak sauce.

It's an interesting theory, but I won't be losing sleep over it until release.

Ah yes, the wonders of the internet. Where everybody can claim he's Chuck Norris.

Seriously, No. Just wait for the game, no reason spoiling it for yourself even if it would be true (which is definitely isn't considering the employees aren't as dumb to just spill the story of their next cashcow).

While I think this is BS this type of thing can happen. I remember back when that movie Cloverfield was coming out, the secrecy hype was ridiculous. All well executed viral marketing. In fact the marketing was better than the film. Anyway, there was this guy on the Rotten Tomatoes boards claiming he had seen a rough cut of the movie because his friend worked at the studio where the digital editing was taking place and took a burnt DVD home. This guy described the plot, the monster (even so far as posting his own crappy drawings of it), everything. Nobody believed him because, one, the plot fit in one sort of long paragraph. He also kept saying that there is no explanation for the monster which people wouldn't believe.

Movie comes out and he was dead on. The plot was so thin it could fit in a paragraph. He described it perfectly and had clearly seen the film beforehand. So, while I doubt this is real, it can happen.

If I remember correctly, it sounds like the plot of Star Trek Voyager. They find out the Borg go after advanced civilizations to become more powerful than the one threat they have no chance against, which was the race that created them.

But IF any of what this guy said is true, then it's a rejected concept idea at best. BioWare has been known for having great story telling in their games and this direction of the story has too many plot holes to be from BioWare.

Sure, there could be something like that post. Have a ying to the Reaper yang wouldn't be a shock.
The creators left the citadel and relays for us. The Reapers are parasites that hide outside the galaxy to avoid any discovery and then jump in for a few centuries and devour the life, just to run out. They're giant, evil rabbits plaguing the creator's garden.

Maybe the dead Reaper was one that the Creator's stumbled across and blew away with their shotgun.

As long as some super-advanced race doesn't ride to our rescue, such as in the forementioned Babylon 5 and its horrid ending, then as Vigil said, the motivations are unimportant.

Just some random person looking for attention. Firstly, if that was the story for ME3, that would mean that the writing team had taken to huffing paint thinner instead of writing, and secondly companies are very serious about NDAs. If it were true, the person's "friend" would be found out and fired, and the thread would be closed down. \\

Random forum posters do this all the time to get attention. I remember at a Star Wars forum I used to frequent, there'd be tons of people who would pretend they were friends with people at Lucas Film or related companies in order to gain attention.

Plus any self respecting individual wouldn't flaunt who his friends are. If I were close personal friends with David Gaider or Mike Laidlaw or Casey Hudson or  whatever other random person from Bioware you can think of, why would I spend time online flaunting that fact? It's just childish attention seeking.

This idea could just be true...

Discovering another Reaper-like species, but with good intents is nothing else than discovering the Reapers.

If there's a Cthulhu species, why couldn't there be an Angel species?
