During the Dalish and meeting Merrill bits, there's apparently a big plot twist to do with Marethari's amulet you get from Flemeth and it ends with Merrill leaving her clan and becoming a "Dalish Pariah". What I want to know is what everyone thinks happens at this point.

My theory is that with Morrigan gone, Flemeth tries to take over Merrill. But I think it's going to be highly unlikely.

I seriously doubt that this will be a BIG PLOT TWIST, just because we get Merrill pretty early in the game. It's probably something relatively surprising, but hardly something that will make us all crap our pants.

I'm not really expecting her to be taken over by Flemeth, but honestly, that would be really cool, and it would explain why Merrill's profile is so...scarce, for lack of a better word.

I'm not saying Flemeth succeeds.

Flemeth would have to fail, because the devs have said they are taking the fact that some players killed Flemeth into account.

 Hell, maybe she only succeeds if you killed her. After all, she'd need a new body that way.

Given the time problem, Flemeth possessing Merril can only happen after the player kills Flemeth . . .if they did. And I think - don't remember exactly - that Morrigan, if you kill Flemeth, says something like "it will take a while for her to have enough stength to re-manifest". So it would have to be after she's killed, and after "a while" has passed - how long that is, who know.



So - interesting idea, but unlikely, I think.

I do wonder if there's something really big happening with Merrill because of how scarce her profile is and because of this hints about a ritual. I doubt Flemeth posesses her or anything like that, but something's going on with Merrill and it's too juicy for the devs to spoil us about it I bet.
