I not sure if it can make 2011. From what i have heard and read its fall 2011. ME2 came out in 2010 so its only been one year what can they actually improve on?

Dragon age 2 timing is allright been about 2 years but mass me2 is hardley a year old.

Well they were working on ME3 since before the release of ME2, so a 2 year developpement frame is pretty good, considering the fact that ME2's was about the same. Besides, now that they found a good formula for gameplay, they just have to make a few tweaks and then the rest of the time can be used to devellop the story.

So i'm not that worried

Don't forget they also are trying to utilize the success and press that ME 2 has gotten in the last year. But the OP is right, hopefully Bioware puts out a good product. However, I don't think time is really an issue. Look at how long it took Square to put out FFXIII, and that was one of the worst games of the last decade.

Keep in mind that this is the conclusion of Shepard's story, so it's way easier to develop this game.

Like Casey Hudson stated: "Mass Effect 2 was the most difficult to make because we had to not only bring in things you've done before but think about what's coming for the future".

ME2 came out in January 2010. ME3 is projected to come out in winter 2011.

That's closer to two years (23 months give or take), and on top of that BW were supposedly already working on Mass Effect 3 at the time of Mass Effect 2's release.

They had also already begun ME2 towards the end of ME1's development, so that's hardly proof that ME3 isn't going to suffer from possibly being rushed, since ME2 felt rushed and the gap wasn't as small. Granted ME3 isn't going to likely get as much of a revamp (which is also a shame because I think it needs it).

No, it's still Holidays 2011 / December.

Also expect a small push back of the release date.

On this theme was created by many threads.

Recently there were details of Mass Effect 3 and this information gives me hope.

I'm worried about the music. Spirit of Mass Effect is music, for me, first of all is the music from Mass Effect 1.

I am very interested to know motives and origins of the Reapers. For me it's important, because many times I've seen as a one hero of all rescues, but very few stories in which the enemy has reasonable and logical reasons.
I'm waiting something that will make me think, made me a different way to look at the course of events.

For me, music and the story is most important.

ME3 started development midway through the development of ME2, On top of that Mass Effect was planned as a trilogy from the very beginning where as Dragon Age was not. It was an experimental one off game.

They don't have to worry about continuation into a ME4 (the next ME won't be called that anyway), thus cutting the production time down significantly. Quality and creativity isn't being sacrificed by releasing it holiday 2011.

Also, pushing back a game for its own sake is kinda pointless.  This isn't GoW3.  ME2 pretty much nailed the combat mechanic perfectly, so it's not like ME3 is getting a 100% gameplay overhaul.  If the game is done, it's done.
