I dragged the top of the message window up during a recent battle to see if one of my spells went of or not in the midst of all the combat spam. I dragged it to the top of the screen and now I cannot drag it back down. I can drag the bottom up to the top and from the lower corners but I can't get the window to move away from the top of the screen.

I when I bring my mouse to the top of the screen or to the upper right corner the appropriate 'drag arrow' appears-- well like the bottom half of it, so it seems the GUI recognizes my mouse is at a drag point.

BUT.. I cannot drag the top down.  I switched from full screen to windowed mode and back. I loaded a previous game save and even THERE the window is now stuck on top. It blocks the other GUI stuff that appears there (underneath now)

I cannot find a way to move the darned window where I want!

Can someone please help me?

I am almost at the end of SOZ and dont want to have to reinstall the game from scratch to fix this most annoying problem and have to play through the entire game from the beginning to fix it.

try to grab the bottom down - afterwards you can drag the top down too. you could also try to "catch" the title window of the box if you move the mouse fast.

you could also edit your guisettings.ini and search for the line called "defaultchat". the xml can be found here: my documents/neverwinter nights 2/ui/default

[defaultchat]

xpos-1680=820

ypos-1050=312

the first numbers are your screen resolution and the 2nd numbers is the position of your message box. deleting the ini should work too. nwn2 should drop another ini with default settings.

Thanks Semper ---

I *can* drag from the bottom but all it does is enlarge the window downwards. the top of the window doesn't move. It *is* pretty frustrating that the window doesn't follow standard Windows behavior which would allow me to click inside the window and then drag the window to another location.

So I wll check the xpos/ypos stuff. I appreciate the help\\!
