1. I wounder if I could romance Miranda in the maingame and when I have finished the last mission and go for the Shadowbroker mission, can I romance Liara then on the Shadowbroker ship? And if I can, can I return to Normady and still romance Miranda after having a romance with Liara?

2. Another thing is what effect those two romance have on ME3:blink:

Catfight of such magnitude that Reapers run off to some other galaxy.

Yes you can. Just did it in my game.

Just because you can doesn't mean it will happen in ME3 that way. I doubt that Bioware took the time to program the ability to cheat on ME2 LIs, because that's what you'd be doing. And if you cheated on Liara in the main game with Miranda, then it should be like you never re-romanced her.

What happened to me is this...

#1: I romanced Miranda and never broke of the relationship.

#2: I downloaded LOTSB and got chewed out a little by Liara for fooling around with Miranda; but was still able to continue my relationship with her.

#3: Continuing my relationship with Liara didn't end my relationship with Miranda so I can still invite her up to my quarters unless I go the extra step and tell Miranda that its over.

So presumably neither my relationship with Miranda or Liara is over. How this will play out in ME3 is anyone's guess; but considering the lengths that Bioware went to in order to get you to cheat on your ME1 love interest I doubt the consequences could be too severe.

I mean prior to LOTSB Liara seems like she's gone nuts and basically tells you to screw off and save the galaxy on your own because she's too busy looking for the Shadowbroker for some reason and Ashley/Kaiden basically call you a traitor to your face and then storm off after you save their lives and the lives of the colony they failed to protect (it was there responsibility to get the AA guns operational and they didn't). In either case its fair to assume the relationship is over and move on.

I'd imagine in ME3 they'll be a confrontation like the one between Liara and Ashley/Kaiden in ME1; but having anyone resent you forever over it seems like a stretch. That said I could see your ME2 love interest getting hurt since unlike your ME1 love interests they didn't do anything to justify ending the relationship. In particular I could see Tali or Jack freaking out since Tali was a virgin and took a risk by being with you at all and Jack is already crazy and would likely freak out if the only person she ever trusted turned their back on her.

It's unlikely Shep will be able to continue a romance with Liara, anyway. She's the shadow broker now.

It suggests to me she'll not have very much time for petty things like sex with a human that will be dead long before Liara even hits her prime.

I just think it sucks that you can't continue your romance with Liara after that mission is over. Everytime I go to the Shadowbroker's ship, all I hear is "Thanks for coming by." In the PS3 version I don't even know if I'm still dating her since I have a picture of Kaidan on my desk.

That was a really stupid direction they took Liara's character and her motivations for wanting to pursue and then become the Shadow Broker were totally out of character.

If Liara isn't back as a squad member and a romance option in ME3 then I am going to be royally pissed.  Her character got butchered in ME2 and Bioware needs to work on undoing the damage they did in ME3 not further excacerbating the damage.   Having Liara as Shadow Broker can be useful to Shepard; but in ME3 I want to be able to get Liara away from that dirty business and end the existence of the Shadow Broker permanently rather than sitting back and watching the power corrupt her.

Agreed.

It also sucks that you can't continue to have an amicable and evolving relationship with characters after you conclude their romance.   The worst offender being Samara since she will walk off and ask to be alone after her romance ends in failure and then every time you talk to her afterwards she'll just say "Can we talk later?  I want to Meditate" and in real life if you strike out with a girl and the only thing she ever says to you afterwards is "Later, I want to meditate" then you've got a big problem.

They definitely made some bizarre decisions for Liara's character in ME2, but at the same time it would be just as weird if she underwent another personality change between 2 and 3. I think she's a lost cause.
