"Beings of Light" and the "Machine Devils"

I think this will play a big part in ME3 along with the whole dark energy issue. BW has put a lot of different easter eggs and vague explemations on a lot of planets. "Machines Devils" are obviouly the Reapers. The beings cannot be the Protheans because there were other races before them and this says that these specific aliens existed at the start or a very long time ago. They can be the counterpart of the Reapers (good) created to defend the galaxy against them. As for the vision given to Kumun Shol, it could have been the same as what happened to Shepard. Amother beacon or a similar device.
Something tells me that in ME3 we'll go looking for these beings or at least why they disappeared. My guess is that in ME3, we'll lose the war and the survivors will have to find a new way to stop the Reapers.
***My guess is that a very long time ago, a civil war took place between a race or a few of them with one side building the first reapers using themselves as a means of production and the other creating these "beings of light" to fight the Reapers. But the Reaper side won and then found they're new bodies (the many programs inside the reapers) to be too powerful and decided to destroy the galaxy and make more of themselves in a never ending cycle of genocide and insanity.***
Just my personal theory (everyone has one). Any comments on the main topic?

While this is one of the things that has to be adressed in ME3 (along with the AI civilization from CDN and the Leviathan of Dis), I really hope BW can avoid a deus ex machina -solution.
This I want it to be just like Dragon age origins where i recruit armies.
That never gets old.

I hope a deus ec machina is avoided as well, but these beings (if real) are already dead. We would be looking for knowledge, not help. Kinda like a very slim trump card.
It won't work out like that, there would have to be atleast 1 of them left alive.

The darkspawn got smart after killing everything on the planet and killing all grey wardens.
They took to space but found out soon that they were overpowered and needed to take breaks in their quest for just killing.

Shepard is going to have to go to Rome... oh wait... different beings of light...
Desmond isn't gonna go looking for "the ones that came before". He goes to find Eve and eden in AC 4.
Back on topic antway....

Better yet;
Old Machines = Old Gods
Darkspace = The Fade
Reapers = Jealous Spirits
Reapers confused about their creation and jealous of organic life seek to take over organics to feel / taste / smell / see / hear through organic methods. (Eventually perhaps, hoping to eventually become totally organic with all their machine skillz still intact). The beings of light, old
Before some of you start "ZOMG LOZER WTF, U R DUM!" take a deep breath and relax - I am not being serious.

Klendagon wasn't planned. It was only incorporated into the story of ME2 because the community became utterly obsessed with it being key to defeating the Reapers--not sure why, since the weapon obviously didn't save the race that built it.
I suppose it's possible that the "beings of light" and the Leviathan may be written into the game. I hope not though, there's nothing wrong with letting little enigmatic details give a sense of ancient history and mystery to the galaxy. This community just can't let it be though, it's like every little detail has to have earth-shattering ramifications, every character has to be related to another, etc. etc. etc. It's insane.

Maybe you have it backwards. The Reapers are our salvation. They are the guardians of the universe and these beings of light are the enemy that threatens us all if the reapers fail in their mission. It is possible, it is a commonly used trope in works of fiction. Do not assume light = good.

It does however beg the question what have the beings of light been doing these millions of years? Maybe they allowed the Reapers a limited ammount of Reaping. But now they Reapers have broken some sort of agreement they will come and help out.
Could Shepard be a being a light made flesh, like Daniel in Star Gate ?
That would certainly make sense of why the Reapers want him so bad.
Totally cheesey of course, but given Biowares record not unexpected at all.
