I've started another playthrough and I want to have Zevran in the group since i've ignored him mostly up till now so i was trying to get him as early as possible, I've just cleared out Arl Eamons keep and said i'll save his son without killing him etc but i wanted to know how far I need to progress before i can recruit him since i wanted to try do as much as possible of the game with him.
Also are there any ways of triggering him appearing early?
Easy way to get Zevran?

You have to complete one main story quest, so you can theoretically get him around level 10 if you go from Lothering right to Redcliffe and dealing with the Connor situation right then and there.
If your intention is to collect him as early as possible, that would be the rout I would take. Deal with Connor right away.

Or the Circle Tower. Clearing out the Circle Tower is the easiest way to get the ball rolling imo.

You have to awaken the Arl to complete Redcliffe, I think? Or can you get Zevran if you do Redcliffe by either killing Connor or sacrificing Isolde but before you get the Urn?

The urn is a separate quest... NOT required to get Zevran. I like taking Zev into the tower but that is more for RP reasons... any of the main plots will unlock zevran but be warned that Lothering will also be closed so make sure you finish all the quests there first.
p.s.
Killing Conner or gutting mum (my favourite Dalish solution) is the fastest of the four possible outcomes.

I do the Dalish quest first, and right afterward is the cut scene where Howe hires the Crows to take care of the Wardens. Usually right after leaving Redcliff is when Zevran steps in. If you play a female mage, take Zevran with you to the Circle Tower - he comments on your "relationship" with Cullen...I always thought it was funny.

That's good to know. Must have not been paying that much attention on my first 2 attempts and land this time I had no choice but to go back to the tower before finishing Redcliffe because I didn't want to kill Isolde or Connor.

Redcliff is probably faster but it dont take long to find the urn first. You can go straight to denerim first and go to brother genitivi's house to start the quest

I think the fights are harder in the temple though.

I agree that the fastest/easiest way is to do Redcliffe and take the lesser evil of sacrificing Isolde to trigger Zevran. If romancing him or to get his better dialogues you'll want him in as many of the main quests so by doing the first half of redcliffe before having to do the urn you'll have him for all the fun around Ferelden. He's good for taking to the Dalish because you'll get extra dialogue options from him. But pretty much everywhere you go he'll have something to say at some point.
I still love his chains line from Haven

There is a mod that lets you get him immediately. Sorry but I don't recall the name, but if you go to a modd forum and search the Zev mods I'm sure you will find it. It's Zevran Early or something like that.
