I understood that I should max charge, passive and bonus, I also decided to max cryo ammo for the fun of it. (Shadering ice =D) But what is the next skill I should max? Pull or shock wave? and when do I used them vs charge.
thanks

Don't take Shockwave if you're playing on Hardcore/Insanity -- it's utterly useless.
Max out Cyro Ammo (squad), Inferno Ammo, Charge, Reave (Bonus skill) and the Passive ability.

Just max everything but Pull and Shockwave. Charge first, Passive, Inferno, Squad Cryo, bonus (Barrier or whatever)

Slam makes an excellent Pull substitute for this type of build. It can still be used for warp bombs (provided you keep your squad mates behind you so they don't have a cast animation) and it works well at distances. Neural Shock is also a good bonus, as it will CC enemies and keep them standing, so they don't fall behind cover, making distance sniping easier. Plus, they both work with a single point. As far as cool downs go, Neural Shock takes the cake with a 3.0 second cool down (vs. Slam's 9 second CD). However, since both abilities are more likely to be used because Charge is unavailable (can't charge some targets), you may find that the cool down time is less of a worry.Evilsod wrote...
Shockwave is useless and requires 3 points to reach Pull which means you can't max another skill so Pull is also useless.

Forgot to mention, they both also insta-kill husks.

Ok, so I've been playing around with it and yes, Shockwave Vanguard is completely viable. Haven't made a vid in a while so give me some time and I'll post it up.
A Vanguard with 3 points in charge, a pistol and nothing else is completely viable.
I'll be shocked if you've found any use for it that isn't gimmicky or forced.

It's better to forgo Pull/Shockwave entirely and go for Area Reave/Area Drain. Unless you want to play my Fake Adept (built due to my nostalgia for the Nemesis/Singularity Vanguard with Adrenaline Burst from ME1):
10 Inferno Ammo
10 Heavy Charge
10 Champion
3 Shockwave
10 Pull Field
6 Stasis/Flashbang Grenade
6 pt Stasis/FBG is fake for Heavy/Wide Singularity, respectively.
The Fake Adept doesn't always Charge. Sometimes they simply walk if it's not too far away.
Fake Adept FTW! I actually prefer it to the real Adept.

I have a feeling what no matter what I do, it will be gimmicky because I "could have just Charged." It's the same with my Cryo-Throw-Flamethrower Sentinel. Gimmicky? Maybe. Viable? Yes. Fun? As hell.
But points for being negative and shooting down an idea. Do you have any?

I am very interested to see this video soon! I tried making a shockwave vanguard with inferno ammo, destroyer, area reave, area shockwave and heavy charge, but it didn't really work. Then again, based on your videos you're much better than me.

Damnit, I'm going to have to make a Shockwave Vanguard. Just because nobody likes them!
Go on, thisisme8. You changed my playstyle for the Adept (see my sig), do it for the Vanguard. I dare you.

I really want shockwave to be useful and fun. If you've found a way to do it that is fun then I'd love to see it.
You been on vacation? Lots of new users on this board now that don't know about your cryoguard.

Like it's been said, reave is a good bonus power. Honestly, I don't use pull or shockwave because I like to be always ready to charge. I only use reave when I want to wait out the charge.

Shotgun for cryo - Once you get it scimitar ( what blitzen uses in his videos ) evi also works well. Make sure you go for weapon damage upgrades because you can't freeze until you break protection.
I typically use Scimitar if my intent was to freeze. Eviscerator is good, but it's so strong you'll end up killing more enemies rather quickly anyway.
Add me to the list of wanting to see the Shockwave!Vanguard vid. I'm really interested in seeing it.

But I find combat oriented classes to be stronger if you follow their talent trees to the end and evolve their powers so they have more utility instead of spreading them out giving you more weaker powers.
With that being said if you're going to major in cryo ammo consider picking up the viper it is amazing and you will love it.
