Hi everyone, I'm having a lot of fun on the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition on Steam. Everything ran smoothly right until a certain point. Now, I am getting extreme blurring in everyone cinematic scene and dialogue scene that I enter. Here are some screenshots for a few examples.

Unfortunately, I have
no idea how this started to happen. I have made no configuration changes to my PC. I just loaded up Dragon Age one day and these blurry scenes just started occurring.
I have tried updating to the latest video drivers. This worked toresolve the issue for only one session of play, but the problem has now returned. I do realize that turning frame buffer effects off is a possible workaround, but I’d rather like to see a solution to the issue where I do not have to compromise. If was working correctly before, can it not work again?
Here are my specs:
Nvidia Geforce GTX 460
E8400 3.0ghz intel core 2 duo
2GB RAM
Windows XP
Running 1680x1050
Widescreen 16:10
Anti Aliasing OFF
Texture Detail: High
Graphics Detail: Very High
Frame Buffering: On
If anyone has some insight on this, please respond. Any help is appreciated.

First off, thanks for a VERY complete post. Visual aids are helpful, too.
Could you check your Nvidia Control Panel settings? Under 3D Settings>Manage 3D settings on the left, do you have any Global or Program settings set for anything other than "application controlled"?

Hey thanks for the quick reply!
In Global Settings, all settings with the option of "application controlled" are currently set to that. Those include:
Anisotropic Filtering
Antialiasing- Mode
Antialiasing- Setting
In Program Settings, Dragon Age isn't listed as an available program. This is probably because my version is on Steam, considering none of my Steam games are available. I would try to Add it as a program myself, but I'm not sure which file to select.

The executable file you're looking for is called daorigins.exe. You can search for it with Windows Explorer. On a non-Steam installation it's located under Program Files>Dragon Age>bin_ship.
I am starting to think one of two things are happening here:
1) This is some sort of scaling issue... that the game has been bumped to a lower res but the Nvidia software is scaling it back to the desktop setting of 1680 x 1050. So double checking your settings in the game (or the "Configure" menu of the launcher) and the scaling settings of the Nvidia Control Panel might help. I usually keep my Nvidia driver set to "use Nvidia scaling w/ fixed aspect ratio"... but you may want to play around (located under Adjust Desktop size and position).
2) Something texture-wise has been corrupted in the game... do you have any mods installed? Also, I am curious, since all the screenshots are from the dwarven city... does this happen elsewhere, say in the party camp?
EDIT: There is also a setting in the Launcher's configuration menu under video called "Disable Aspect Ratio Correction". Not sure what its for, but mine is unchecked.

Good news! Problem fixed!
With your advice I loaded up the game and went into options (in game, not the launcher). I switched resolutions to something lower, then reverted back to 1680x1050. Loaded up a save file and immediately the blur was gone from any scene. Im glad it was a simple solution.
Thanks again for your great help!
