Or do you mean stress as in pressure to complete all the side quests?

I personally found that the second half of ME2 was a bit 'full-on', and I just had to smash it all out in one sitting for my first playthrough. There was just so much at stake, with the colonies and the Normandy attack etc... couldn't put it down haha.
If that's not what you mean, then you obviously take games a bit too seriously. It really shouldn't stress you out.

Wanna know what REALLY stressed me out? The lack of autosaves in ME1. <_<
Argh. I remember when I had to re-do the entire first segment of Noveria after a Geth Destroyer killed me; my last save was about 1 and 20 mins back. I didn't play ME for like a month after that.

Yeah, I get that sometimes.
F***ing scions, jesus christ.
They we're the ONLY thing that killed me on Insanity.

"Collector's ship?", not really
"Reaper IFF?", not really
"trusting a geth?", not really
"quarians making demands of humans on a human colony?", don't understand that
"quarians hacking mechs on a human colony getting everyone including quarians killed to then make as if the humans are the evil ones for investigating?", plot-hole
"is this truly RPG?", curious

Well, that one's fairly easy to explain. His suit had been damaged and, as I'm sure you're aware, Quarians have bad immune systems so they NEED those suits to survive. His suit is damaged, he's got an infection, and it's making him delerious. Plus, I believe they mentioned that he wasn't completely sane to begin with.

ME1 gives a sense of total freedom. When you do side-quests for squad members, it's very clear they were in awe of you as they tried to do it themselves and failed before your intervention. You're repeatedly told you're a Spectre and you don't report to anyone, or even to conventional laws.
ME2 makes me feel like I'm back in the office. I have to motivate a team that reminds me of emotional college interns, read emails, answer to my manager, respond to deadlines, etc. All this constly reminds me I'm working in the Cerberus Corporation Ltd. It's a job, not an adventure.
However, that didn't make me feel stress. I actually thought it was an interesting way to give ME2 a different atmosphere that fit the game's flavour. I really noticed that when I went back to playing ME1, where everything just seemed more light-hearted compared to the dark tone of ME2.
OP, I reckon you're not feeling stress like work-related stress, but it's clear something's keeping you from just enjoying ME2. I'm also guessing you're playing a full Paragon, is that right by any chance?
My suggestion is to treat ME2 as a totally new experience instead of expecting it to be simply more ME1. It think ME2's a better sequel for it, but I acknowledge your perspective, as I felt the same way when I started.
In my case, I really enjoyed ME2 after I started a new character there that was pure Renegade, which fit the tone of ME2 more. I liked it so much I went back to ME1 with the character concept, re-made him for a quick playthrough (he earned quite a few Paragon points from saving human hostages), then appreciated both ME1 and ME2 as both a Paraon and a Renegade. The differences between the 2 made going back and forth with such replays a refreshing experience each time.

The second part of a trilogy is almost always the black sheep of a sagajmp087 wrote...
With the first Mass Effect I felt like I can just breathe and let the story unfold slowly but Mass Effect 2 was almost stressful sometimes. So many squadmates to recruit and do stuff for and not enough main quest missions like Horizon and the derelict Reaper. That's the real meat of the game and the part I enjoy playing.
I mean:
1°Part - Introduction of the threat/discover of the universe
Reaction: Oh man this story is awesome, the characters... we just stopped the first wave, but we need to get ready for the REAL threat, can't wait to see that...
2° Part: getting ready for the finale
Reaction: ok let's get ready and fight that great Danger.... wait, it's a trilogy, please God, tell me that I can fight them in this part... (5 hrs later) FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
3° Part: Finale
Reaction: Oh God this is so epic ¡¡yes!!! What?! it's over... but I just played ¿40 hrs?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Dying 26 times in a row in INSANITY? No stress whatsoever. And someone said that ME2 feels like a job, that part I liked. Adventures are overrated.
