The problem is that we're going on the assumption that all maleSheps will make the assumption that 'humanoid female enjoys hetero human sex' and that Liara will not object to this if she dislikes it.

What's established?  That both Shepard and Liara get naked and that Liara says she had a good time.  That's it.  If she didn't enjoy what happened, would she really say that?  I don't think so.  So if she doesn't enjoy penetrative sex, it didn't happen.  And vice versa, of course.  (See also our respective femSheps and their digits.  I'm sure it would occur to them, being humans, that inserting one's finger(s) might be a good thing.  Liara won't just sit there and take it if it doesn't interest her, will she?)

To be perfectly honest, I think the idea that an asari would tolerate sexual intercourse, even if it's painful and uncomfortable to them, to be disturbing and perverse in the extreme. It's a form of sexual abuse.

Understood.  I'm just reiterating that ... this is my key point, that whatever happened to Liara, she did enjoy it.  Even with maleShep.  So by your insistence that penetration would be painful and uncomfortable, I can only assume it didn't happen with maleShep.  IF THIS IS TRUE.  If Liara enjoyed the act and there was penetration then she does not dislike it.  And as it's been established that there are things in the human body that make no sense as to why people would enjoy them, as well as the fact that we really have no direct evidence at all as to the location of the erogenous zones of asari... we really cannot say for sure what they will like at all.

EDIT -- and because we're spending half our posts reiterating our anger at Ramirez's joke, instead of reporting him like we should have if we took offense to it (like I did actually, though I'm having trouble finding the original post to send in a report), it WILL get locked.  Can we just ignore him and move on?

I came with the intentions to defend both sides here, I just don't see the point to it anymore. Let the moderators decide what's genuinely offensive and what is a dumb joke.

I believe you are forgetting they had sex with only themselves for the greater portion of their species lifetime, before they made contact with the Salarians and others.  I also think their attraction to most non-human aliens is ridiculous too, minus human females and possibly quarian females, given their similarities to the asari.

But you implied earlier this was the wrong crowd because the majority of posters in this thread are female. One can infer  then that you think the right crowd is male.

Understood completely... as I recall this objection was from a meta standpoint (though I'm not sure all males consider them to be Hollywood Lesbians, or 'bisexual lesbians' as Eric Bischoff once said wall-bangingly, there is the fact that if there's a visual component to their attraction, yes, there would be no reason to be attracted to a male silhouette).  The problem is, let's face it, lesbian sex as we understand it shouldn't do anything for asari either.  Tactical stimulation should probably make asari ticklish if anything.  And hair should squick an asari out regardless of gender.

I hate to say it, but if you look too deeply into this topic, you'll find that female Shepard may be as thoroughly disqualified from being attractive to an asari as male Shepard is.  It really depends on what is attractive to asari, and as I've said time and time again, we have no frame of reference that can be logically proven.
