Oh look, sexy undies. Seriously, that doesn't bother me half as much as expressionless sex faces. If those are gone, I will be more than happy to see panties on everyone.
As for the reveals. We already knew Isabella is an LI, and most people deduced that Merrill is. Fenris fans will be happy. Seeing as I like all the characters, I'm rather happy about these. BUT we still don't know who is the male bi option and the second male in general.
Come on, Anders or Varric, don't leave us hanging! (Please be Anders!)

Look man...Red Dead Redemption got away with a bare chested woman getting f***ed on screen. GTA4 got away with full frontal of a dudes junk. We aren't asking for them to have nude sex on screen like a porn movie. We simply want artistic nudity on our characters instead of ridiculus underwear humping. If we get actual nudity and a fade to black before anything happens I can almost promise none of us would complain about it ever again. Mass Effect 1 did it perfectly from an artistic stand point but sadly for whatever reason Bioware said to hell with it.

I have to agree with you Kyle. Though I did happen to watch that Red Dead Redemption scene several times...
And she wasn't as gloriously stacked as our lady Hawke.
Though you have to admit that GTA full frontal guy scene wasn't tastefully done. It looked...odd. Not that I think they would spend so much time trying to graphically detail that...part of the game.
I think at some point the chest is just going to be shown in Mature games. And I have no problem with that. I wouldn't have a problem with full nudity as long as it wasn't as bad as GTA. That was just ridiculous.

You're missing the point. Personally, I don't want sex scenes in games so that I may beat off to virtual boobies.
I want them because in a society that is as sex-centric and sexuo-phobic as Western society, tastefully done nude scenes are the best way to show that games are as respectable a medium as any other.
Bioware is a developer that has done a lot to prove that videogames aren't exclusively for desperate, hormone-addled teenage males (which is the stereotype the media propose us), and the ME1 scenes were an especially big step. Going back to underwear dryhumping in ME2 meant losing a lot of the reputation they had so carefully amassed, and seeing it is back in DAII is highly frustrating.

I agree with you about ME1's scenes. They were wonderful ... nothing there you could sit and ****** over, but a tender moment shared between two people, and realistic in its artistic interpretation. Very sweet scenes. Really took the idea of telling a love story in a game to new levels. And I felt ME2 was all surface, no substance, especially after having been given such great romances in ME1.

That said, I don't believe it's useful saying DA2 is 'setting it back'. We've heard the official line that it's fade to black stuff, or the camera pulling away, no more dry humping and awkwardness a la DAO. Getting worried based on a screenshot of Isabela straddled on top of Hawke while wearing undies is taking it to the extreme. Imagine that's the last shot before the camera pans out ... imagine there was some lovely clothed smooching, shots of clothing being removed, then Isabela pushes Hawke gently down onto the bed, reaching down to kiss him as the camera pans away ... not a dry hump in sight. Not saying that's how it's going to go, and of course there's a distinct lack of sideboob, but the build up can be just as sexy :happy:

In my opinion, the entire thing was very awkward to watch. Sure, it can be used to display that video games are an acceptable medium, but that's still something I don't really want to see. It's the same with movies or books. In a movie, sure a sex scene can be done well, but at the same time it can easily be done really really badly. If I'm reading a book and two characters are in that kind of relationship, I don't really need the explicit details. All artistic mediums could convey their points about romantic, mature sex just as well if not better by implying, or showing the bare minimum rather than showing every last detail.

Personally? I LOVED the Heavy Rain scene. I thought that was fantastic, everything you expect from a big time movie. I considered that rather tastful as well as appropriate to the setting.

I wouldn't be surprised if all 6 non-siblings and Sebastion were LIs. It's not like Origins where you had Wynne, Shale, Dog, Sten, Oghren, secret companion that didn't make sense as LIs at all. All our comrades are young and hot this time around!

Look, I'm not saying it makes a lot of sense. Maybe I'm just desensitized to violence. But I personally don't want to see full nudity in the game. Sure, I'll concede it's possible to do partial nudity or implied nudity in the game. But to have fully nude animated figures in a video game...well I just don't think it can be done tastefully. I personally have no desire to see it. I understand it may not be designed to pornographic, I'll admit that my first post about this I misinterpreted the poster's comment. But even when they try to do full, explicit nudity, even tastefully, I still think it'll end up looking silly and awkward. That's just me. This is pretty much how I feel about it. I think the more graphic  DA:O mods look like puppet porn. It's like an adult version of the Thunderbirds, and manages to be both silly and a tad disturbing at the same time.

They should just flash up a graphic when it is time for the sex scene with the following. "Sex scene, feel free to be like Oghren to go to your tent for a 5 minute break. The game will resume in 5 minutes." and then have a countdown.

That would've been good in Origins even, for the two or three NPC's that you cna flirt with. It would've been great if as the flirting line of conversation ended, this counter popped up over a fade to black screen.


side note on the original images:
There is a slight optical illusion going on in the female Hawke image. The background (under the armpit on the right side of the image) doesn't contrast much from the skin color used... and so the especially full busted Ms. Hawke gives the appearance of needing undergarments designed by a structural engineer....

For goodness sake people FEMHAWKE IS NOT THAT BIG. This is just like when everyone freaked out about Merrill's chest. The angle simply makes it look bigger than it really is. Wow I can't believe the Devs don't rip there hair out for all the times they have to repeat themselves.
