Not that it really matters.  The writers have said, they write the characters they want to write, not based on audience demand.

And wow, this thread is weird.  We've gone from imagining Merrill being raped to her being battered.     Makes me wonder if the devs regret ever releasing any images or any info, the way it gets twisted.

Hey, romances are TOTALLY optional, don't like them? don't do them! They are supposed to be hooks to the story and all. Not the main thing about DA2. You'll have to settle for what you have, for once. All whinny about how bioware "not feed me fetish, me no like elves!"

Its all about options in roleplaying, really. The story spans over ten year, and my character only has the chance to romance 3 characters during that time (3 that we know so far). This being a 12 year old looking elf chic, a pirate lady, and a lyrium infused elf (wich no doubt will give you some lyrium infused sexual disease afterwards). Now lets say Hawke just doesn`t like elves, or doesn`t enjoy the thought of having sex with another race, for whatever reason... This means he or she is stuck with a pirate chic. Nothing whiny about it. It just removes alot of options, thats all.

No it isn't strange. It's a old stale argument that has been thrown around constantly on bioware forums.

Glad to know Meril is in, I like the idea of her, hopefully she lives up to it. But i have a feeling Isabella will be the most rewarding.

You get two options. Just because you don't like one doesn't mean you have only one choice, who is a 'slag'. Gay people only get one option. Besides, theres probably options for flirting and semi-romances with non-party members.

12 year old elf chick? Should I laugh at the whole post or only where you described the characters? Oh wait, if your Hawke doesn't like other races, and pirates... Then you can totally skip the romances in the game.
Though I understand that you want more choices. In that case, Bioware needs more money.

I just got an image of sting, Bilbo baggins sword, which he later gives to frodo, it glows blue when orcs are near. Lyrium glows blue, sexual lyrium disease, and glowing sword.

Anyways those undies are better than the ones in origins but really would it have hurt for everyone to have unique! iconic! undies? 

Don't say you value individuality then put them all in the same undies. Or undies that have nothing to do with the character *coughsIsabelacough*

Granted we don't know much about their personalities, but the companion who really clicked for me in terms of being an LI was Aveline. I know a lot of people don't want to see another Jaheira or Carth, but I would have liked to romance the strong female warrior. You don't often get an option like that and Aveline seems to be the companion who is most similar to me. Granted, we will probably get a great storyline with Aveline without romancing her, but I would have liked to romance a human woman who is more of the knight or military type like Aveline.
