Not unexpected, but it's cool to have confirmation. I just hope the writers haven't overlooked the cultural barriers between Hawke and Fenris/Merrill - that is, it shouldn't be too easy to bed them. Think about it; Fenris' been enslaved to a human for quite some time (one would assume), and Merrill's dalish. All in all, I just hope this is recognized, and that they end up being the hardest to romance.
Still, I have no doubt the writers won't disappoint in this regard, so I voiced doubts I don't really have :3
I agree, and I do look forward to seeing how they'll deliver on this. She's been set to become a Keeper after all, not "just" a proud dalish but a leader of their people and clan. A guardian of their culture, to then fall for a human... that's rather close to a complete 180.
And then there's Fenris, I'd imagine he has little love for humans, not to mention mages, in general. Lot's of room for interesting conflicts.
No one ever said its a requirement for a Dalish Elf, even if their a Keeper to hate all humans. Not everyone is going to be a racist sack of crap like Zathrian. The same can be said of Fenris, unlike Zathrian who imposed his hate of a specific group on everyone who fit the description, Fenris may be able to keep his anger where its suppose to be, otherwise forget romance, I don't know how he could even exist in a human world.
Not to say that it wouldn't make for interesting stories, but I don't see it as a requirement for the character, that's just generalization. Look at Lanaya, of all people she would have reason to be like Zathrian, but she harbors no grudge for a human Warden. Then there is the super easy Gheyna and Cammen, so I don't see their background being a reason for why they would be hard or easy, just their own individual personality vs the actions of Hawke. Like someone who is a prude like Alistair would be difficult, regardless of where they come from.
