I'm kind of really creeped out by the Merrill pic. Not because of her looking too young, but she just looks so uncomfortable. Hawke looks angry, and she looks uncomfortable and it all seems awkward and....bleh, just creeps me out a bit.

And I am incredibly disappointed that Bioware seems to have gone the "panty-dry-hump" route again. Only now the underwear looks dirty, rather than just granny-ish. Hoorah. On second thought, it's really not that big of a deal. If I find it as awkward as I did in Origins, I'll just click through it.

Hopefully, though, this is just a snippet and not indicative of the entire romance/all romance scenes.

Being a dude, it is easy to extrapolate the fact that I did not watch Dawson's creek. Therefore, the casting had no effect on me.

Simply put, Merrill doesn't look young because of a decade old show. She looks young because they have intentionally made her look young. Hence, the "virginal girl next door" line. I just don't think they wanted her to look THAT young.

My Hawkes will stick with the lovely Isabela. Sure, you might catch something due to her rather promiscuous ways, but at least it won't be a cold from the long, sad shower Hawke takes to clean the stain off his soul for deflowering a girl that looks like she just got into highschool.:P

It's a trope, go read it and then be sucked in and return later with your life ruined.

Oh...wow, I never noticed that.  He DOES look impatient and angry at her. She's blushing and looking very embarassed, worried, and ashamed.
Edit: heh...she looks too young too... wtf bioware.

I never cared much about the complaints regarding default male Hawke's beard or Merrill's visual age. But oddly enough these pictures sort of have me thinking there might actually be something to it. Mostly though, I think it's just the fact that his beard clashes so horribly with her youthful appearance (and his hairless chest).  I still think she looks like a fine-boned young woman, though.

Nutella is reknowned throughout Thedas as a potent aphrodesiac.

So Isable does a Morrigan and puts on more clothes during sex than she wears fighting monsters.

Normally she seems to prefer a rather slim black slip and no bra, but when having sex she wears bigger pants and a bra that would pass for a tube top made out of apparently unbleached linen. What is it with the women of Thedas that makes them believe that this kind of clothes look more sexy than what they usually wear?

Merril definetly has that Tali vibe, she looks embaressed there and her short story seems to push that further, definetly winning my vote for malehawke

Femhawke on the otherhand is a yowza! did not expect those robe melons to be so huge, Must run in the family @__@

Great, this topic is now about picking on all the female characters because of their appearance. Ugh, even the more reasonable people have jumped the bandwagon, it seems.

Man Hawke is female now? Because I could've sworn people were picking on the creepy look he's giving Merrill...

Also, his head looks just a tad too small for his body. There. I added another pick to the "male side".

Really? It seems to me that people are more picking up on the look manhawke is giving Merril, like she's done something terribly wrong. It both disturbs and amuses me.

It was a bit of an overreaction, but did you miss the various posts about how ugly or child-like Merrill is?

The perfectionism people have with these characters is rampant again, like when it was with first screenshots. Some of it is humorous, some of it really is serious.

And? Merrill's feelings can't possibly be hurt as she isn't real and since this is a visual medium people will judge based on looks.  Some will determine that they like said look and some will determine that they do not like said look. Just the way it is.

Now I don't know if someone else has noticed this...

..but poor Merill looks a bit concerned...she appears to be looking at the end of 42 inches...while Hawke looks on in admiration of himself...

Just sayin' is all.

In this case, though, people are    basing their judgements on a single  captured screenshot... a single split second (or less) of footage.  And then they're concluding that the person in the screenshot is  "sad" or "depressed" or "angry" or "constipated" or whatever.  It's nonsensical speculation.  You cannot accurately determine a subject's mood in a quick still-capture.  What if she was giggling 2 seconds earlier?  what if she's about to burst out in a smile a second from now?

Does such a thing hurt anyone? No. The world keeps turning no matter how many conclusions people come to. Let them have their fun and when she smiles in-game a second after this shot you can say: "Told you so" or if she doesn't smile and is sad they can say "Told you so". Either way works.
