I understand his cameo takes place in the vigil's throneroom. However I don't know how to trigger this. Is he supposed to appear after you've completed a main quest or two?
And yes, he did live in my Dragon age origins campaign.

Yes, the trigger is doing one or two quests.
Can't remember which. But it's generally a good strategy to touch base at the Keep after doing practically ANYTHING, so just keep running back like you're on elastic and you'll get it for sure before long.

Yep, especially people who want to have a character to import to Awakenings and get Alistair on the throne. lol
Keep up posted what happens with Loghain, I'd really like to know how his appearance goes.
