Strange as it sounds I've actually grown to like the default name Garrett. And I NEVER use the default name in RPGs. I was thinking about using my go-to fantasy name, the same I used in Origins, but it didn't fit with the last name Hawke, so eaither I'm using Garrett or figure something else out.

you won't be playing the same character as the warden, so it'd be werid if at any point in the game the warden or Hawke came across each other with the same first name XD (and if I'm good...same hair-style XD).

I'm interested in seeing if people are going to go the werid paradox route or just make up a random name or go with the default.

I will name my female Templar Hawke as "Cassandra" and morph her face just like Cassandra. Muahahaha  
Varric is seriously going to have a very hard time  with me. I can guarantee that. I'll tie and lock him in closet for the entire game he can't tell proper story to the Chantry Seeker in the future.

If we could still play as an Elf, I'd name my character Legolas.  But since we can Human ones I'm going to name my male  character(s) Ethan (warrior), Colle (Rogue) and Niko (Mage)

My human female, will be named Endira (warrior class), Niwah (Mage) (pronounced Knee-i-wah), or Nadedge (Rogue)... another possible name for my Fem Hawke is Rianna (class undecided).

I have a habit of leaving the names on defaults in DA:O, and I don't see a reason to change it in DA2. That way I feel more like I'm playing an actual character with a past and not a self-insert.

i have no idea. i have a name i usually use, but i used it for the warden in origins. however, in one of my playthroughs i named my warden Bob and he turned out so awesome and lethal that he quickly became my favorite of my pc's. so, that may open things up if i import my Bob saved game, which i think i will. so, i'm thinking my hawke will be named Arsinon.
