 Dear bioware addicts,

Tomorrow i will recieve DAO ultimate edition.

I know the dlc's will have items so i will play them first so i can use those items in my DAO and awakening playtrough.
I already played DAO on the pc so i am up to date on the story by completing it twice.

But never did the dlc's.

Also for the i want to have all the dlc's to make it in DA2 so i dont know if i NEED to play in a specific order:unsure:
In witch order should i play the dlc's and awakening in?

I will make one character because i want to play DA2 with this savegame :wizard:
And not enough time before the DA2 release to make multiple characters:whistle:

You should do them in this order:

Origins:
-The stone prisoner
-Warden´s keep
-Return to Ostagar

Post-origins:
-Awakenings
-Golems of Amgarrak
-Witch hunt

I also recommend that you do the origins main quests in this order, but this is subjective:
1) Circle of Magi
2) Arl of Redcliff
3) Brecilian Forest
4) Orzammar
5) Sacred Ashes

After that you will be reach the start of the endgame, so make sure to do the sidequests (and origins dlc) before finishing the last of the 5 main quests.

There is no particular order in which you should play them, apart from Witch Hunt, which should be played after you finish the game. Leliana's Song should be played after if one hasn't played before, but since you have, I don't suppose it matters. I never bought Golems (it's plotlessness didn't appeal), and you couldn't pay me to play Darkspawn Cronicles, so I can't speak to those. ;)

In terms of the others, it makes sense to play The Stone Prisoner fairly early to get Shale, although I wouldn't try before level 10 or 11. I'd put off Warden's Keep and RtO a little as the equipement you get levels to you. It can be upgraded at the Keep (Soldier's Peak), but it's not free. It doesn't matter what order you those in. I tend to do Warden's Keep first and RtO a bit before the Landsmeet.

One question though will the savegame register for DA2 if you play the stone prisoner and witch hunt after awakening?

Hmm... No idea. Witch Hunt has it's own save, but only one save can be imported to DA2. I think you could import your Awakening save into Witch Hunt though, and use the Witch Hunt Save. Stone Prisoner is an in-game dlc for Origins. It has to be played there and before the end on the game.

Then i will do the morrigan quest after awakening its weird though. If you spend all that time with a character and the save's are seperate from witch hunt and your regulair game.

Thank you very much! I was perplexed about the DLC play order as well.

Sadly is does not look like you can import Witch hunt. As for Stone Prisoner no if you did not complete it in origians before importing it into awakening.

The come out saying origian and awakening games can be imported to any game that lets me import into.

I have never been able to import ether Witch hunt or Golems of Amgarrak. Which makes me belive the non origans/awakening DLC packs will not be able to import in DA2.

This is the order I completed DA:O ultimate editon in:

Human Noble

Circle of Magi

Arl of Redcliffe

Warden's Keep (you will need the party storage chest at this point)

Urn of Sacred Ashes

Leliana Song (to get the armor for my rogue)

Return to Ostagar

Darkspawn invasion

Elves Brecilian Forest

Orzammar

Landsmeet/Endgame

Witchhunt

Awakenings

Golems of Amgarrak

I hope this helps.

Make sure you've patched Witch Hunt, the import save as bollocked. We're being told that it will work now, but I'd back up my Awakening save just in case.

Well this is the order I did the DLC as it fits with the time line best.
Origin-> Ostagar -> Lothering(Get Leliana) -> Leliana's song - >
Arl of Red Cliff -> Wardens Keep -> Circle of Magi -> Return to Ostagar -> Urn of Sacred Ashes -> Stone Prisoner -> Finish Origins -> Darkspawn Invasion-> Awakening ->
Golems of Amgarrak -> Witch Hunt -|

I also agree with Mykel55's Order.

Play witvch hunt last it's "your Warden's Last Adventure." It also took place 2 years after origin ended. While Awakening took place 6 month after Origin.

I do Sacred Ashes first so I can easily get to the dragon when I want Wade's armor when Iam strong enough and so when I do Redcliffe last I can revive Arl Eamon as soon as i deal with that little twerp of his in the fade and then go straight to the landsmeet.

Its not in canon order I think but its effective.

Best thing about this game? There is no set path you have to take in it :}! The only order you really should avoid, is the ones after origins, as to not spoil anything like Origins > Awakening > Golems > Witch Hunt. Is the only order you should follow really, everything else is preference.
