After reading all these comments about Canada I am quite shocked to realize I know almost next to nothing about the country located just above where I live, haha. It might be because I live in Japan now for most of the year.

Asia FTW? ^_^

There's not a whole lot you need to know about us, aside from the fact that we make mean maple syrup and serve as America's hat.

Though, I feel like I've derailed this thread. xD

OT:  I have officially given up on trying to figure out how these romances are going to unfold, and instead look forward to being pleasantly surprised. =]

Glad to see I'm not the only one who opened up the internet calendar recently to discover March 8th was creeping up.

Honestly, I've been replaying DA:O to to cope until the demo comes out, and when the demo IS out I am going to be playing that on loop until the game comes out.

that's what I had thought you were doing there, but do you need to learn Japanese there?

And I feel the same way. It's so far away and yet so close, I bought Dante's Inferno the other day, but I beat that today, and now I'm just playing DA:O again. Dwarf Noble and Human Noble origins are always going to be my favorites.

Though one thing I hated about the origin stories was how if you didn't pick Rogue as your class, you missed out on loot. Useless loot, but you could've sold it for some extra coin. All the rogues they gave you up to Lothering couldn't open any chests at allPosted Image

Actually no you don't HAVE to learn Japanese but I was already interested in the Japanese culture and language in undergrad so I spoke Japanese fluently way before ever planning to go there for grad school.Posted Image

I can't remember... were there any locked chests in the mage origin? Because I want to romance whoever decided that. Gal, guy, blind mabari warhound... I want it in my pants.

Also, America's hat? Really? Stop demeaning yourself, Canadians. You know that tiny boutique you get your stuff from because you're rich? That's Canada*. America's Wal*Mart.

there may have been some chests in the mage origin, but I'm not completely sure. I'm fairly certain that every origin story had either locked chests or locked doors that led to some loot. But even if the Origin stories didn't have much locked loot, Ostagar did. So if you're not a Rogue, you miss out. Which was kinda unfair imo

wait..... I'm really lost by your comment now.... is that first part some sort of euphemism? Or are you just a horny little bugger?

What? No! I just think that putting locked chests in the mage origin was an A-1 idea, and I'd cast aside my sexual preconceptions in order to get in on that action. Also, I needed some way to make it "on-topic." If I close every single post with "they're all bi," it gets to be too much even for me. I need to mix up my relevance-phrases.

ok because I've got a very dirty mind, so I end up making a lot of things euphemisms.

A person could call me up on the phone and say "Hey I need to come over to your house, I think there's something wrong with my cartridge so I'm gonna test it out in your console." I wouldn't know how to take that.

Sorry lol

Considering the church has been demonizing and routing out homosexuality for centuries, it already is a witch hunt. Its just not as active as it used to be. At least not in America. There are places in the world where homosexuality is a crime punishable by death, and this is due to the influence that religion has had on the world, there is no doubt about that.

I don't think writing in homosexual exclusives is a good idea JUST YET, but give it time. Let's go with the "Everyone is bi" route or whatever it should be called, and roll with that now. Later down the road, maybe in DA3, they can have homosexual-exclusives. But its just too soon for that now.

Excuse me, leave your social crusade out of entertainment that people pay for.  I don't buy games to be preached at, by any sort of social reformer.  Made to think- yes, I welcome that.  Told what to think- no thank you.

...Where is it even said the Chantry is homophobic anways? I never remember any sort of prejudice in DAO except against elves and mages.

I wish people would stop with the Chantry = Catholic Church.

The Chantry actually has shakey if somewhat decent reasoning for some of the s**** they do.

I don't know if starting a war is necessary. But visibility is wonderful, regardless of how people individually respond to it.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure the Chantry isn't anti-gay.  They're anti... anything that goes against them.

I would never wear a hat that looked like Canada.

Wait, so... what does that make Mexico?

They aren't. Homosexuality isn't frowned upon in Thedas. In fact, no one really cares all that much.

Heck. Leliana is a devout chantry nun. She seems to be donning on her Bisexuality pride pretty strongly.

Lulz. I was getting confsed with the anti-gay Chantry thing. I knew something was just plain wrong about that.

If Chantry are anti anything it's mages running wild. But given the vast potential for destruction the Chantry has (and it's not an imagined danger) their reasoning is sound even if their methods are questionable.

Then why do people keep insisting that it's such a major part of someone's identity if in Thedas no one seems to give a damn?

Ah true. I keep forgetting about Leliana.
