I'm not saying you have to change your opinion.

Its just wrong.

The mages aren't treated inhumanely.

They just aren't.

I think it still is, but since Bioware hasn't treated us with any new romance info since the beginning of the topic, it sometimes goes off on tangents. I'm sure it'll get back on track.

Fair enough, though it's not like there aren't already several recent threads regarding mage treatment among humans and the debate surrounding it.

Is anyone else wondering about potential jealousy issues or love triangles when juggling LI's? I know i am, cause i want both Anders and Fenris. I wonder if i'll have to pursue each one separately during different playthroughs, or if I can have it all at one go? I'm guessing probably the former.

I'm sure the game will address it somehow.  Personally I prefer to decide who I want and stick to that person, because love trianges even in a game make me uncomfortable.

And why would my PC not know something so important about a person they care about?

For me, deep characterization is what makes these games what they are.  There might be games where you get to mold the NPCs to be your dream fantasy, but I would not be interested in those.  If that's what the other poster means by a dealbreaker, yep I guess it is.  That's why I read the dev posts about a character I like, read the game novels etc.

opinions are never wrong. They're all right in the eye of the beholder. As such, my opinion to me is right. To you it's wrong. Let's leave it at that. Stop trying to make me change it.

If it makes you feel better, I don't think mages are treated inhumanely. There are lots of wrods, most of them quite negative, that I would use to describe how mages are treated, but inhumane isn't one of them.

****ty. Yes, opinion. Inhumanly. No, as we have social and legal laws which dictate so

EDIT: Not here for romance discussion :D

Wrong

An opinion is what you believe to be true.

As such, if I claim something is my opinion when it is not, that claim is wrong. It is not my opinion that there is no such thing as gravity, and if I say it is then that statement is false.

Likewise, because an opinion is a belief, that belief can be unmeritied. Even if I were of the opinion that there was no such thing as gravity, by the conventional definitions of the terms involved I would be wrong.

So an opinion has to be factual in the sense that it IS your opinion, but it doesn't have to be factual in the sense of corresponding to reality. An opinion that doesn't correspond to reality is STILL wrong, however, even if it is your opinion.

The word Inhumane:

Inhumane: ▶ adjective without compassion for misery or suffering; cruel: confining wild horses is inhumane.

→ in‧hu‧mane‧ly

The mages aren't confined for the "lulz." They aren't sealed without reason, they are allowed out in circumstances, they can get married (provided someone is willing to marry them in the first place), their children are taken away from them (this in a sad way makes sense.), they aren't tortured or experimented upon, those that are turned traquil (finally remember the word!) either volunteered or proved themselves dangerous.

to explain my psychotic statement, there isn't a whole helluva lot you can do to stop a psychotic. They don't care who they hurt, even if it's themselves. In some cases, it's a genetic condition that changes a person into something dangerous. Thus, in a sense, it can be considered a creature. Demons are considered living parts of the psyche, so in a sense, in our world, psychosis is a demon.

alright fine, opinions are wrong when you're a dip**** who says gravity doesn't exist. I'm sticking with my opinion. Maybe you should be a mage and see how you're treated, if that were an option in real life mind you. You might think differently.

Yeah, it probably wouldn't economical for Bioware to include content for a love triangle anyway. Since i like both Anders and Fenris though, I'll have to play through the game twice. Which one to go after first? I cant make up my mind!

Once again point me to one that can use magic and we can compare them to mages.

Oh you mean if I had a genetic condition that allowed andom demons to take over my body and destroy everything around me? Yeah I'd think differently. I'd want that stopped. I'd want to be around people like me who understand what I'm going through. Sure I wouldn't like being in the tower but if that stopped Sally from beating me to death because her crops died well the lesser of two evils...

why do you think so many mages hate how they're treated? I get treated like **** all the time. Some "friends" have treated me as less than dirt.

Look.... let's just drop it and get back on topic before some dev decides to ban one or both of us or lock this thread or do something.

So.... how about them pirate ladies?

Treated like **** =/= inhumane.

Like I said I'd stop busting your balls if you conceded the inhumane. Because yeah the mages are treated like **** alot of the time. Inhumane however is another can of worms.

Your PC wouldn't know because (s)he wouldn't be given any indication of it. It's subjective. If you don't pick the "I want you" dialogue options, then the character doesn't want you. It's not that they do, you just didn't ask. I'm banging my head against the wall, I don't know how else to explain what subjectivity is in context :(

No, they would be bisexual characters who for whatever reason a) don't know they are, or B) are concealing it.

I do understand what you're saying, but in a story-heavy game, I hope for characters to be as "real" as possible, and not simply blank slates on which the player can project whatever view of them they prefer to hold.
