Thank you.   ME2 left its scars.

I was hoping DA2 might heal some of those.  But the wait goes on.

I just wish they'd tell us.   The straights learned today who they could romance.  We wait on, resigning ourselves to anoher Tali/Samara siuation, wandering up blind and fruitless alleys.

But thank you.

Now the question is...how many can you romance at once?

(Due to a glitch where they wouldn't confront you, I managed to get an epilogue where I had both Alistair and Zevran...I wonder if that's doable in da2)

I also wonder this?

Btw, what happen to your Warden in Awakening? Did he get 2 loveletters?

She got a letter from zev and the scene talking with Alistair at the begining.

I hope those short stories aren't indicative of the quality of writing for the entire game. My used bookstore has two whole shelves full of AD&D novels, if I wanted that level of quality I'd get them.

And they call ME grumpy???

Jeebus, dude.

I just want parity with the straight people.

You're expecting, what, Shakespeare?

Chill.

Hehe. My thoughts exactly.

Weeelll, crankypants.  I loved 'em, especially Fenris, but also tormented Merrill.

Rampaging Anders is a wee disturbing.

Ooo, looks like I get what I want yet again! Bioware, you spoil me so.

Thanks for the reveal as well as for the short stories, Chris! You ain't so evil after all. Image IPB

Anders' story is just... wow. He's looking pretty badass! I'll have to remind my fem!Hawke mage that if there is to be any costume play with Anders, she needs to avoid dressing up as a templar. I'm sure she quite likes where her head is attached currently, thank you very much.

*sighs happily* I planned on romancing Fenris first, but I dunno, after reading the bit about Anders ripping people limb from limb, might have to reconsider...

He's a DLC character. Not that this means he isn't a love interest, but this statement is just about the core game, not its DLCs.

There is still hope, then! *runs off to find that blasted towel she threw out yesterday*

I'm convinced that all LIs are bi now, especially taking into account that review or preview or whatever it was that said you could pretty much "bone" everyone in your party. Wouldn't make much sense to say that if you only got 2 or 3 possible love interests.

I forgot about that review. But maybe they mistook flirting for romance? Or didn't try the male options?

i dont know if anyone has answered this question and i dont want to make a whole thread about it so i was wondering can you romance a character if you are rivals or friends? or do you have to be friends?

Rival romances are indeed possible.

Oh yeah, I'm plenty scarred from ME (1 and 2) still. At the moment I'm finding it helpful to keep my rage for the ME team ... because the DA team seem to be, well, more awesome right now :D

If Anders isn't 100% hetero, I'll eat Andraste's Knicker-weasels. He hit on every woman in sight in Awakening -- he even looked forward to being caught by the female Templar that was after him. Making him "bi" at this point would be a retcon. It has to be the other guy.

Hopefully, the Elves in DA2 don't look pre-pubescent. Otherwise, the choice has been made for me.

Am I supposed to apologize for having standards?  They're certainly not the worst things I've ever read, but they are quite literally on the level of an AD&D novel.  That's probably really great if you're 14-18 (or mentally that age) but there is nothing remarkable about them at all.  If they weren't attached to this game I doubt any of you would think twice about them.

It's certainly a stretch to see so many people calling them "great".  Michael Swanwick is a "great" fantasy writer.

Huh. I am honestly suprised that it's Anders and not Varric.

Called the others though, so yay me.

Well if he only tried the 2 female options, the quote would make even less sense. Unless there are a lot of non party romances or something.

Theres a romance screenshot of Hawke and Fenris naked together so that means the elf is the BI option (how typical). This means the options are:

Isabela - Bisexual
Merrill - Heterosexual
Anders - Heterosexual
Fenris - Bisexual

I've only seen that with FemHawke, where did you find it?

It's fake.

ME1 too?  I thought all it was missing was Shepard x Kaidan.  Otherwise it was awesome.  Less so the retcon, I mean, sequel.

I think David Gaider is one of the good guys.  I don't think he'd willingly mislead us.

But until it's confirmed, I'm not buying it.  This today confirms nothing, and Mr Priestly's invite to woo companions that ultimately won't be interested in my character is not something I'm going to take up.

Maybe he only thought there would be hetero options? *grasping at straws* Because neither Varric nor Aveline are romanceable...though that would fit with the whole "chances are you can bone them." ....GAH! I'm confusing myself!

Now those were some damn good short stories, especially Anders. On the other hand the LIs avaliable are just fine

I'm 41 going on 16. Does that count?

Dude, they were just something Bioware threw together to whet our whistles.  Give us a few insights, get us talking.  Not meant to be 'great literature'.  Great for the purposes of making us interested, yes.

Well, in fairness, we already knew Isabella was F/F.  And with Anders/Fenris it's 50-50 between them.  Or both if it turns out everyone's bi.(which is doubtful, but hey)

Most likely Fenris.

I'm happy with the romances, though a small part of me was hoping for varric. I am even more excited now that they've released these short stories, really insightful. I think I'm gonna go for Anders for a romance.

Maybe people were calling them great because of their content rather than the style..?
Or maybe their tastes are just different. Not everyone has the same set of standards.

Keeping OT: thanks Bioware for the information and backgrounds. Lush. :)
