In order to overcome his/her grief at being left out of the sexy foursome, Hawke can instead romance a)  Aveline, Varric, c) both or d) Harlequin novels while eating ice cream and sobbing quietly.

Can't I romance Aveline and Varric in a way that involves icecream (and Harlequin novels)? That seems like the most pleasant option.

You changed your avatar! I really like all the fan art of Merill, but I'm still iffy on the in-game graphics... holding my judgement until we have more screenshots. Also, I'm not asleep! I'm working in President's Day. Please ignore my silent tears.

So, I'm sure that many of us romance proponents will be reading/writing fanfic about these LI. Just because I'm curious, do you guys prefer player-character/love interest fanfic, or companion/companion fanfic? To me, anything that has a player character in it can become Mary Sue / Gary Sue so I tend to read companion/companion... from origins it was Alistair/Zev, so now I'll probably be reading Anders/Fenris.

Oh god, imagine having to dredge through hundreds of f!Warden/Zevran or f!Warden/Alistair just to find a Taliesen/Zevran or like you said, Alistair/Zevran. It's just too much. So I most definitely prefer companion/companion or companion/other NPC. Instead of Anders/Fenris though, I read Anders/Nathaniel 'cause you know, they were meant to be XD

I must admit that I am not what I'd call a fanfic connoisseur . I like looking at art, but when it comes to stories, well... that's why I play the game Also, I totally... well, the closest analogy I can come up with is play D&D in my head. Ummm... yeah, anyway! Moving on!

Yes, Taliesen/Zevran and Anders/Nathaniel are great too! But yeah... those f!warden ones... especially "both our first time" with Alistair... yeah, you wish! But, in DA2, I think the characters might be a lot more reigned in now that the protagonist is voiced. For ME fanfic, I can easily read shepard/whoever because there just aren't that many possibilities for shepard. But, while I suppot reigning in the character on the fanfic side, I'm depressed to think that Hawke really won't be customizable... I'm not really attached to any of my shepards, but I get very into designing my DA:O characters.
