Nuke's a double edged sword. That's why no one in their right minds use them lightly. They're great scare techniques but if they ever became widely used it would come back to bite everyone back in the ass. Then of course is the fact that they do a lot of splash damage. BM not so much.

ehhh BM does do splash damage if you explode a man from the inside out. But you can still control many people with BM. In the Circle tower, before you fall asleep to Sloth, one Blood Mage had control of 4 or 5 Templars at once.

Ah well, even if we're wrong, which we aren't, I think it's better to have had fun believing everything would work out awesomely for awhile before the crushing depression sets in.

Optimistic indeed! I also doubt everyone would be bisexual (would be too good to be true), but you can never know until you actually play it. I really hope both girls are bisexual, that would be so awesome. <3

I'm not even a Merill fangirl and I can't see how she wouldn't be bi! She just seems so fluffy... she has to be! Kick reason to the curb... who do you think Hawke is!? Hawke can win over everyone! Don't doubt it~

Nothing wrong with optimism, but I'm trying to look at it from a cynical perspective. That way if it turns out your right It's also a pleasant surprise Posted Image

Yeah but that's controlled splash and isn't always.

To veer this ontopic: I wonder ifAnders will stil be a blood mage if you gave him that spec in Awakening?

Considering that in Awakenings you could respec anyone at anytime with that one item, and the Black Emporium will let you do the same in DA2, I bet this won't carry over as it will be considered too flexible to be worth carrying over.

Well if things are carrying over from Awakening, that would make sense for him to still be a BM. But on the other hand, you'll be at a low level, so I can also see it as unlikely.

And back to Jowan for this post of mine: I pity him. Even knowing what mages know, he couldn't have known Connor would've bargained with a demon. He should've suspected it might happen, but saying he should be able to see the future clearly is like you saying right now you know how Hawke becomes the champion. You just don't know.

anyway, back on topic. I still need to decide who I'm going to romance first instead of constantly getting into intellectual debates on DA. Which by the way Ryz, I'm glad to have. it's rare I get an intellectually stimulating conversation.

Gah.I wanted him to laugh about how the WC taught him BM. Bah.

Uh...no. It's more like me saying there's a chance  Bethany will get arrested by Templars in Kirkwall. There is. It's a serious risk and I should prepare for it. It's not a definite. But there's a very large chance of it happening so rather safe than sorry.

I'm romancing Fenris first...unless he's actually not bi. :crying: Then it'll have to be Anders. And if none of the male companions are the bi option I will nerd rage on the forums. Loudly. In all caps.

It's nice that my ranting/rambling is appreciated.

Hey, hey... hai guise... Jowan was not romanceable. But he was bi. And he was the OGB.

[EDIT] Also, he was a total douche hound. I effing hated his ass.

ok yea that's a much better example. I agree with that. But you still don't know.

Then again, who's to say Jowan hadn't been arrested shortly after the poisoning and teaching Connor? Maybe he wasn't able to get to demon lessons because he was discovered.

I might do Isabella. Then Merrill. in the same playthrough. I want to see a catfight! and if there are also some actual cats in the catfight even better!

Wait... will Ser-Pounce-a-Lot be in here? He better, or I'm coming at you Bioware with all I've got!!

and anytime Ryz

I'll probably play an femHawke and romance Fenris first. And then probably romancing Anders a bit too. And then Isabella just because she's there and I won't be able to stop from clicking the romance dialogue. Jealousy conversations ensue, and I restart the game because by this time I've not only got everyone on my case, but I also probably discovered 50 things I meant to do differently after reading the dragon age wiki. Then , on my new game, I properly romance Fenris if all bi, or whoever is f!only. Then in the next game where I play manHawke I romance Anders or m/m only. And then I play a character dedicated to sleeping with all the people I haven't yet already and trying to kill as many people in Kirkwall as possible.

EDIT: I died of lulz at the bedpic.

Lulz. I want to see the number of people who romance Izzy. I have a feeling it's going to be the highest.

I can talk all I want about whether I'd go for Merrill or Isabela, but the truth is that I'm really not going to have any idea until I actually meet them. I'll certainly end up doing both eventually, but *shrug* I like looking at Merrill's face more, at least from the side. There aren't enough Merrill screenshots.

Moar Merrill, pl0x! Also, I want to hear her.

Its not like anybody expected the romances to be 'unrestricted', as the review put it. I for one always assumed, back when everybody thought Aveline was an LI, that she would be the male-only LI and that the other two would be unrestricted, and then when we found out that she wasn't one, that Isabella would be the only one. But when they made an announcement clearly stating that you can romance any of the four LIs (which I believe is on page 1 of this very thread) and when a subsequent review of the game came out and said flat out that the romances are unrestricted by gender, its hard to come to any conclusion other than the most obvious one, that the announcement, and the review, are all correct. If they're all wrong, that would indeed be disappointing, as well as quite surprising. Of course we'll know for certain in a couple of weeks, maybe even sooner. In the meantime, I'm going to assume that since everything we've heard so far points in the same direction, that direction is correct. Yay :) .

And there was going to be a big splashy something on 2-1-11, too.   Sorry but I think these are straws and you're grasping.

The devs did say at one point, I recall, that more people played the s/s matchups than they expected.  However the assumption that everyone in Thedas is gay or wants to be is really odd.  Not even gonna touch the logic that this or that person has to be bi because they look that way or have a certain personality.  That's as dippy as saying the reverse.

Whatever.  Can't believe how much gas has been spilled on this one topic.

It probably will be! I really don't like her character model (just personal taste...), even though I like her characterization, though. So if I really want to enjoy her romance and know what's good for me, I'll probably leave her out of my party completely and try not even to speak with her until I can download an alternate appearance. I don't want to spoil the experience, haha, or permanently associate her with that face. I mean I know a lot of people love her, but she just really doesn't do it for me!

But you know, even though she'll be the highest, she's no Morrigan I feel -- Morrigan had that extra special something.

However the assumption that everyone in Thedas is gay

I just want to say it's impossible. There would be no birth, no child. No children, no humanity. Gays are born to heterosexual people. Until proven otherwise, gays do not have the power to make children. Maybe in the year 3000 with science and machines.

Or maybe the magic in Thedas can make children against nature with blood magic.

I just wanted to clarify this point, sorry I cut the trip.

My gay dalish warden gave a baby to Morrigan. Just saying.
EDIT: He thought about Zevran the whole time though.

...That makes no sense. Gays have children the same way heterosexuals have children.

I know. But I don't see how you can run imagined world where everyone is gay. Myself I can not even imagine a world where everyone is straight.

People get upset, I'm just saying imagine a world totally gay, it's really going to look far in denial.

@Ryzaki : Gays can adopt children, I did not say otherwise. Biologically, no it is not possible.

Of course, for some people "she's no Morrigan" is a plus rather than a minus.  Different preferences.
