Isabela: Bi
Fenris: Bi
Anders: Straight
Merrill: Straight
Isabela is bi, thats obvious. They wouldnt have two human bi's imo. Balance it out and have 1 bi human and 1 bi elf. The other two being straight. That would be fair.

Just sayin'
I don't hate him. :3 I just... really don't like how easily his health goes down. D: I mean, even when he ISN'T getting crushed, he seems to die easily.
hmm... then again... TIME FOR DEMO PLAY THROUGH NUMBER 8. Going to see if manually controlling him makes a difference, but eh... that whole ogre fight sucks if you don't have a rogue. xD

Not really. I just played through as a mage (I always play through as a mage) and everyone lived. I had to use a health potion on Carv once. Just boost up his cunning by like 4 points and give him stonewall. I had to manage him a little (Aveline is a champ) but he stayed aliv. I just made sure most aggro was on my mage.

Kelly Chambers![]()
To be perfectly honest, I don't... hate the idea of a Kelly Chambers-like romance wait let me finish! *ducks*
What I mean is, I don't think that it's impossible that a non-combative-npc could become a well devloped LI. Like, for example. Joker from ME. He's part of the story, has a (possible) friendship with Shepard, and is well-developed. A character like him could become a great LI, I think.
I also think that Kelly Chambers was an utter mess, and hope to never see the likes of her in another game ever again.
But I doubt we'll see that in DA2. Or, even, in ME3, despite my hopes. Which is a shame--it could be an interesting device.

Oh, I hate him.
I'm perfectly comfortable and secure enough to say I hate him.
For a few hours, I was in the closet, but I feel confident to be out and proud in saying how much I hate him.
It can be tough sometimes, but this is who I am and I won't let the hate-o-phobes tell me what I feel in my heart is wrong!

They did this (non npc romances) in other games as well such as Triss or Shanni in Witcher (not necessarily commenting on how good they were, just saying that game wove those through the story, though I did enjoy the drunk night out bit in it). It could definitely have potential over a 10 year period such as DA2 is aiming for, though of course it could be done with a companion just as well likely I guess

LOL
Don't worry I agree. If done properly it could be quite nice to have a strictly gay LI even if he/she was not a party member. And I also agree about Joker being a great LI.
And yeah Kelly was a mess. We all know how Scale Itch got on the Normandy.
I hope we do though. It would be something different for once instead of simply swapping gender pronouns.

Yeah, but tbf they all suck a bit at the beginning, don't they? It's also what you get with auto leveling.......... I think it is just that put next to Aveline who is an absolute tank......... we all look rubbishMorningBird wrote...

Just an fyi.

I disagree. In Hepler's story, she made it very clear that Anders is no longer Anders. He is a new person entirely. He is Anders + Justice = Just Anders.
A change of sexuality coinciding with a demonic posession...
That doesn't reek of unfortunate implications at all.
Hah! I still don't think Anders was ever truly straight. I mean, I know Awakenings had flirty lady dialogue, but that isn't indicative of his sexuality at all since there was no way to explore it via LI. We shall see when the game drops to the ground and explodes in rainbows, bears, and bear cubs.
There was Ser Pounce-a-lot... if that doesn't scream "gay," then I don't know what does
No... but the name 'Ser Pounce-a-lot'? *I'm* gay and I thought that it was a rather telling gaydar moment. Admittedly I never finished Awakenings as I got hit with a bug I couldn't bypass and BW never patched, but there you go.
I should point out that I do not love nor own a cat, but if I did I probably wouldn't call him 'Ser Pounce-a-lot'. My boyfriend might... wait, no he wouldn't.
I should also point out that what really screams gay above and beyond naming your cat 'Ser Pounce-a-lot' is wanting to have sex with and only with other members of the same gender as yourself, but that's just me being technical...

But I can't strip THEM. Also, there's a BioWare fan group for Bethany called "She's my sister" or something like that. I keep wanting to make a more scandalous group for having the hots for Bethany called "She's not MY sister..." and ditto for Carver, hahaha.

The main reason I've decided never to do a mage playthrough is because I can't bear to watch Bethany die, but my #2 reason is how much I loathe Carver. So, you're not alone. I think the general consensus on these forums is "Carver, meh." Some people think he's handsome, thoughJust no. Mike Laidlaw is handsome. Carver is derpy.
Pic obligatory. I heart Carver.
*pic snipped for being too derpy*
When he says that in my head, it sounds like "derp DERP derp derp!" I hate him so much. He's so mean to his sisters.
I really find this reaction interesting. In the very first exchange between the twins in the demo I found Bethany to be the caustic one of the two. She comes across as saying something to the effect of "Dang it mom, we should have run while the non-mage(s) were off at war. Why did we have to wait to see if they made it back?" His, "why are you looking at me I've been running since..." seems logically defensive and a bit hurt. This may have biased my reactions from that point on, as I didn't get the mean thing at all. Instead I became rather wary of Bethany and that Morrigan/mercenary tendency to the point that anything but a mage playthrough is going to be difficult for me. I do sort of long for the Virmire type option with the siblings, though I understand the necessity of the sibling trade off from a game play perspective (might have been nice if the rogue players could have chosen at least since there wouldn't be PC/sibling class overlap). Still, this difference of perspective makes me look forward to the different takes on the romance options. It's enlightening to see what different people pick up or resonate with in different characters, especially ones they are more invested in.

I just tried another mage play-through, and I didn't have to up Carver's cunning at all for the Ogre fight! =D It was actually kind of fun. I just used him to wack a few darkspawn while running in circles to keep them off Aveline.
Then, when they were all grouped together in a circling frenzy chasing Carver, my mage!Hawke would blow them up. :3 Think I used one health poultice for Carver and Aveline during the entire fight. Much smoother.
I NOW HAVE A SYSTEM for when I do my mage play-through! Hurrah! I was getting a little worried that my play-style would go the way of DAO and that I'd run through the game with only rogues, but all of the classes seem so much more fun now that I'll probably give them all a try.
On-topic: This means I can definately have my mage Lady!Hawke/Isabela romance play-through!

I would laugh my ass off if there will ever be a mod that somehow enables you to have sexy time with Carver and Bethany. Not necessarily dialogue, but sexy time. Seeing how some fans create absurd mods it isn't entirely impossible. SCANDAL!
