I´m doing a Hawkette mage and will probably go for Fenris on the first playthrough.
But if I know myself, I´m gonna be playing DA2 for over a month straight once it is released,
so I´ll be covering all options avaliable

I don't understand the fascination that many forumites have with m/m and f/f romances... Are there that many homosexual gamers out there? If not, isn't it kind of creepy to romance another person of the same sex?

Dude 99% of the elves in origins were straight. There is no gay elf sterotype. You had one elf in your party that happened to be bisexual. 

Just a bisexual Zevran sterotype. And Zev wasn't bi as much as he was a everything that moves.

I'm gay. Most of the female gamers I know in RL are either bisexual, or into other nerdy pursuits... which tend to include anime... which tends to lead to yaoi, m/m porn for nerdy girls. Women also tend to be a large percentage of the forumites, and I'm betting the majority who are posting in the romance threads. So yeah, women who aren't open to the m/m f/f options tend to be, in my opinion, the minority of female gamers, while it's a smaller percentage of male gamers who are secure enough in their masculinity to go m/m, or identify as LGBT in real life. I think a not insignificant portion of male gamers are all about the f/f thing though and play a girl character. Because, you know, lesbians.

Serious answer?  How many other games offer us gheys relationships that cater to us?  Beside a bit of Final Fantasy teasing, not many. 

That's why I can forgive the general disappointment of Dragon Effect May Cry Warriors 2 if it has smexy girlsecks.

Well, to be fair, I get squicked out by f/m and m/f romances.  I wouldn't use the word 'creepy' to describe them, but they're definitely not for me, which is why I prefer m/m and f/f. xD

Even when role-playing certain people have preferences, at least, that's what I gather from the forum-based rpg's I've been apart of over the years.  Some people are okay playing as the opposite gender, others aren't.  Some people like to play gay/bi/lesbian/straight characters, other's can't.

Sometimes comfort zones determine what kind of characters people like to play.  Some role-players can put their personal preferences aside in lew of the character, other's can't.

Once again, creepy is definitely not the word I would use to describe it, I always go with different strokes.

I'm bi [borderline lesbian at this point lol]
So I'm gonna take full advantage of the f/f romances available. I fell in love with Leliana in Origins (she's adorable), and I'm assuming Isabella is going to be the bi choice for this game.

Well yeah. Nothing wrong with having preferences (I don't like playing straight male characters since I am pretty much forced to in every other game, for example). But it just irritates me when people act like not playing a character that isn't just like you is pointless, weird and 'creepy'.

Soris - Marries a human WOMAN, has children, obviously likes women.

Tamlen - Only falls in love with a FEMALE Dalish Warden.  Also not what I would describe as effeminate, considering he had a 'manly' KILL ALL HUMANS vibe.

Tower Elf - Bookworm =/= gay.  Way to stereotype.

Fenarel - Really don't understand this one, at all.  There's nothing to indicate that he's gay.

Well I didn't ask every elf I met for their sexual orientation. But if out of 2 male elf companions in 2 Bioware games are bi then I am starting to see a connection. 2 may still be a coincidence, but I can see myself posting this very same concern in Dragon Age 3 again. 'Please Bioware not again!'

I wouldn't even know why for example homosexual men should be into elves more than into humans.
