As for who my Hawkes will romance? Not sure yet. I tend to like non-traditional couples (which is why I find Cousland/Alistair a snoozefest but dwarf/Alistair completely adorable, for example) and don't really like playing m/f couples as much as s/s since I can play pretty much any other game for that.... so for LadyHawke it's probably gonna be Isabela, but I'll probably have another fHawke to romance whoever isn't the bi male LI. Since Izzy is for fHawke and there's no way I'm touching Merrill ever (even if she's completely different from the impression her descriptions and story gave, Eve Myles is forever sullied in my eyes from Gwen) so mHawke gets whoever the bi dude is.

My playthrough is similar... f!Hawke will romance Izzy and Anders or the straight LI they're all bi, and my m!Hawke will romance Fenris or the alternative m/m LI. No Merrill for me either -- I just don't go for the sweet type. If she's secretly kinky, we're in business.

I was thinking about the 'jerk' character too, but some people were saying that it's intended to be Fenris. To be honest, that new video with Mike kind of seems to disprove it. He's surprisingly polite and not at all like a jerk. And I'd hate to continue a perpetual rivalry with Carver. It was upsetting enough that Garrett is rivals with him by default.

Yeah, I agree, I don't think it's Fenris, and from what we've seen of Carver -- granted, what we've seen of everyone is rather petite -- I don't think it's him either. I'm in the camp who thinks it's Varric.

EDIT: For all those accent afficionados, I'm curious. Have you ever intentionall played DA:O in another language with English subtitles because it sounds cooler? Not sure if it's possible, I haven't tried as they aren't the original voices. But, I did it with The Witcher for the Polish audio.

Whoops, my bad! I just assume that because everyone wants Izzy. And I'm with the Carver/M!Hawke action that Ninja Mage was talking about, but I can never be sure if people like that are trolling but mostly I think I won't be able to decide until I experience Anders' new voice actor and see exactly how much he's changed. Unlike other people here who are all "augh! if he's all dark and violent I'll kill him on first sight!" I'm in the "he's my first choice if it's an intriguingly dark romance" camp. Also, I lulzed at the "Merill looks just like my girlfriend, just less korean and more blood magic." Ah well, the sweet but powerful type for you, eh?
