Of course bisexual elves are a cliche! Just like DA2's a carbon copy of every piece of fantasy material out there, and even some of the sci fi ones too! :P

If one elf in one game has been bi, it doesn't mean it is a cliche. Who has invented this idea that bi elves are a cliche?

Sorry I strip you of your lesbian status if we would meet on the road. For me people who ride motorcycles are just people, even if they would do it casually.

Anders! <3 Love the short stories, can't wait to experience the romances in DA2.

It will be interesting to see is Anders bi since if he is it wold give even more fuel to Fox News. Imagine what kind of shocking news could be done of a game where you can have homosexual love with demons. I would not be surprised if BioWare would try to avoid that.

I don't think it's cliche either, but it is what they did in the last game, which is why I personally would prefer Anders to be the m/m option.  I won't really mind if it's Fenris, but if it is him it will perpetuate the "all elves ar bi!" stereotype.  It may be a stereotype that doesn't really deserve to exist, seeing as it's only been done once, but it does.  Logical?  No.  True?  Unfortunately.  <_<

I think the reason so many people think it's cliche is because it's so prevalent in the fandom.  If the number of M!Elf slash fics and art on FF.Net, the kmeme on LJ, deviantART, whatever, are any indication then there are A LOT of people who played as a gay or bi elf, DEFINITELY more than a straight male elf (I ship Morrigan/M!Mahariel so hard, but it's practically impossible to find that pairing, whereas M!Mahariel/Zevran is all over the place).  Fact is, if they see something everywhere, people tend to just assume that it's the norm.  It's like how a certain female body type is always represented in media, thus many people assume that that is normal for females, when in fact there's lots and lots of variation.

Can I apply for the post of favorite straight? I have adequate experience for the position. (and many other positions *snicker*)

Certainly. You appear to be the only straight female, so consider you get it even if you would not have those credentials.

Hey, Ryzaki's a straight female. Just because she doesn't like you doesn't mean she's not a person.

Well the position still goes straight away to Bekkael.

Awww, thanks moilami. *mwah* :kissing:

>:o Honestly! Just look into LOTR! They are all 'living and singing in forest', all have long and pretty hairs, plus a lovely girly face, and they all live 'in peace' with what nature gave them ! :P Guys living almost all naked in the forest, singing and dancing is pretty... ahem... not what I imagine about naked guys in the woods!

What I really meant is more that the idea of 'bisexual' elf would be annoying, since it was the case in the last game. And Zevran wasn't the only one: I remember Soris saying he would like to exchange his future wife for your future husband. Not to mention Cammen that was... pretty... feminine in his ways. See? ^^ Zev isn't the only one. Through, if all elves don't care for gender, tell it in a Codex :3

But to be honest...

Main point is more that I don't like to share. Especially when I know my man could left me for another man XD that's disturbing! You can't even be angry, cause it's not like if it was his choice... or... anyway!

:o Let's not argue about this.

Aw, it's not Fenris's fault that he's bi. He's an LI, and they're ALL bi. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

So why do I get the feeling that most people feel that guys are not into romance? ...People please!!!! straight, bi or gay guys all love romance. Romance really is one of the essential themes in some of the most moving stories ever told........ Homer's Odyssey anyone?

I think lots of guys are into romance- they're the ones that play RPG. Then there are all those Halo players...

J/K!!! :innocent:

Then there are those who play flight sims like IL-2. You would be surprised how much "sex" there is in that game. I write typical radio messages between flight leader and wingman.

- Bandit at two o'clock low.
- No joy.
- Bandit at three o'clock low
- Copy. I'm diving at him.
- Copy. Supporting.
- Getting on his six.
- Copy. Go ahead you are clean.
- Shooting.
- Good good you are clean.
- Shooting.
- Bandit coming to your six.
- Copy.
- I'll take him.
- Copy.
- Break left.
- Copy.
- Ok got him.
- Copy.
- Shooting.

Sup who needs sex? Halo dudes say "I used to play FPS but wanted something more difficult and hard."

Having been said this, there possibly is a romantical mission in incoming IL-2 Cliffs of Dover. There is a screenshot where a fighter pilot have a woman as passanger in Spitfire.

So the reason you're against Fenris being bi is because potentially, at some point, he wouldn't be able to control his desires or libido and would dump female Hawke for a man solely on the basis of him being bisexual? Or am I misunderstanding your "honest" reason for not wanting a bisexual male elf in DA2 (Fenris being the only potential option)?

Borrowing this point, someone who dumps their established SO on a whim for another has serious problems that have absolutely nothing to do with their sexual preferences. It's so antisocial I don't think you'd have to worry about it happening, because the writers would have to... write it... and the kind of personality that would do that does not sound like it would be fun to write. Unless it is.

So is the fear that they leave your Hawke spontaneously? Or that they leave your Hawke for someone of their own sex? Would it be fine if they left your Hawke for someone of your Hawke's sex? I mean... what does this have to do with bisexuality?

Man, unless they really are all bisexual, I have no idea how I'm going to organise my parties! I was sort of planning to have my female 2-handed warrior with Anders and then a male rogue with Fenris, but it looks like my bet about who the bi male love interest was turned out wrong.

I'm not even going to lie. With the current LI line up my male PC is probably going to end up screwing Carver in secret.

Yes incest. You made me that desperate for a normal dude that I'd have Hawke screw his brother! T_T

0_o Right. Somebody's forgetting it's a game, here. I was just joking, honestly. I couldn't care less of who's bi, who's gay or who's straight!

>.>

And I must add that I don't see why Fenris would be more suitable then Anders. I even have come with a super mega ultimate theory that will probably make the world explode! Anders doesn't know anymore if he's Anders or Justice (the way they put it in the little story), why wouldn't be some kind of metaphore about bisexuality? :P After all, being be is having no particular 'side', so it would be soooooooo concept that Anders is bi!

But like I said. I couldn't care less.

I don't know about Carver. He's voiced by an actor who did miscellaneous NPC's in DAO, isn't he? I don't mind the character (what small glimpse we have had), but I just don't care for the voice.

Voice acting counts for a lot to me. It's why I will probably talk to Sebastian as much as possible, despite his not being a love interest.

Well, addressing this point... I'll say that being bisexual has nothing to do with anything until they leave you for someone opposite your sex. An ex-girlfriend left me for a man, and it hurt more than had she left me for a woman. It feels different.

Regardless of the truth of the situation, how it felt to me was, not only am I not good enough, but I'm also not even built the right way. And maybe I'd feel differently if I were bi too (wait, everyone's bi, what am I talking about? :kissing:), but it just added yet another layer of inadequacy to what I was already feeling, and this time it wasn't even something I had any control over.

So, there's that. But, that said, I'm totally not going to stay away from bi women because of it. It doesn't matter in the slightest until we break up, and who goes into a relationship expecting a breakup anyway*?

*Sick people, that's who.

[EDIT] Ryzaki removed her heresy from her signature and replaced it with... a message of death? Lovely :P

What he says is, "Apparently, your groom's a dream come true.  Mine sounds like a dying mouse."

This implies that neither Soris nor the city elf have met their betroths.  All they have to go off of is word of mouth.  People are saying the city elf's groom is handsome.  Soris' bride?  Not so much.

Besides that, he ended up marrying a human woman in my game and fathering children, so I really doubt he was gay or bi.

EDIT: Actually, he does say he'd trade, but I'm pretty sure it's sarcasm... >> *ponders*

... Once again, feminine does not equal gay or bi, and considering how hung up Cammen was on Gheyna, who is distinctly female, once again, highly unlikely he was bi/gay.

Sebastian looks like some kind of epic avenger that will have a strong personnality. Reminds me of Sasuke in some ways, but I suppose I'll have to see it when I'll play if I want to really compare.

=^^= Being not a romance option doesn't make a character less interesting, anyway! Oghren was the most hilarious little dirty dwarf ever in DAO, and he wasn't LI. Same for Shale or Sten (well, Sten is Sten...).

Aveline and Varric look like the kind of character that, like Sebastian, hold a nice role in the game. Not nice like 'angel' but like... deep personnalities, and a story to make laught or cry.

Ah well, more I read of this game, more I want to play it. Not good for my impatience :/
