Dragon Age 2 Romances confirmed

Excited because it has the possibility to make for some really nuanced gameplay, and adds oodles of replayability (I may end up replaying this more than I've replayed ME1 ... which would be a feat indeed).
Worried because I'll be really scared that I could pick options I thought were going to be beneficial for the character and his relationships, but end up leading to having to sacrifice Anders or something. I would NOT like that. As much as I like to roleplay different situations and characters, once I form an attachment to a character I have a really, really hard time making my pc be a **** to them. I just can't do it.
I won't tell you the agony I went through on that single, solitary run of ME1 where I killed Kaidan in order to have a save game with Ash for ME2&3. It was horrific.

I'm really interested in how this relates to the romances, though. Especially Anders, especially if he's bi. I believe it's been hinted that the rivalry path will allow him to control Vengeance. If this is the case, and he's in a romance at the time...well, my little mind's doing all sorts of backflips at the hotness potential.

Essentially, I do not want any of my twu wuvs falling on their swords for me or Thedas (a la Alistair) or disappearing off into the sunset without so much as a goodbye kiss (a la Morrigan). But I know Gaider et al are sadistic bastards and I am no doubt setting myself up for a fall. *waves fist impotently*
At least in DAO I know how to avoid unfortunate endings that involve heartache and the death of kittens and bunnies. But until I've played DA2 a couple of times, and read of everyone else's plays, there is no way to shield myself from the potential hell. Hence the 'worried'. I don't like having my still-beating heart ripped from my chest.

On a scale from one to ten, ten being the highest, how much do you identify with the woman in this picture?
*snip*
As amazing as that image is, I don't have enough information to say. I've never fired a gun. But, licking a firearm seems like something I would do XD
Firearms are nice and very useful, but I would recommend you to try bows. Bows wont do a helluva noise disturbing people. There is also something special in bows because you have to use your muscles to launch the arrow. If I would go poetrical I would say you charge the arrow and guide it to find its way silently on the target.
Edit: "Silently" being relative term here when compared to firearms.
Edit: Bows wont do helluve noise disturbing the nature  Shoot me, I am a wannabe treehugger.
Edit: And animal lover.

Those visceral emotional reactions are exactly the reason I love BioWare games/writing tbf.

If I'm being honest, I agree with you. That does not mean I want to willingly walk into a situation where Bad Things happen. No one needs to see my sad panda face.

Yeah I'm hoping my first Merrill romance doesn't end with her head exploding in my face or something.

Lol you can have that without rivalry paths. We have a word for it in Finland. "Sovintoseksiä". That would be in English something like, hmm. Can't bother to think what it is in English.
Edit: Lol would be something like I-love-you-even-though-I-hated-you-and-I-want-to-love-you.

Reconciliation Sex?
Reconciliation \\Rec`on*cil`i*a"tion\\ (-s?l`?*?"sh?n), n. [F.
r['e]conciliation, L. reconciliatio.]
1. The act of reconciling, or the state of being reconciled;
reconcilenment; restoration to harmony; renewal of
friendship.
[1913 Webster]
Reconciliation and friendship with God really form
the basis of all rational and true enjoyment. --S.
Miller.
[1913 Webster]
2. Reduction to congruence or consistency; removal of
inconsistency; harmony.
[1913 Webster]
A clear and easy reconciliation of those seeming
inconsistencies of Scripture. --D. Rogers.
[1913 Webster]
Syn: Reconcilement; reunion; pacification; appeasement;
propitiation; atonement; expiation.
[1913 Webster]
That would be very good translation.

Ha, this reminds me. I recently got a friend to pick up Dragon Age: Origins. Didn't tell her anything about the storyline, I just let her 'have at it' and gave her instructions to report back with her thoughts when she was done.
Her first play-through pretty much amounted to:
"THIS GAME IS SO GOOD,BUT THE ENDING MADE ME CRY TEARS (hint, I got the sacrifice ending.)"
Which (as you mentioned) makes me wonder if we're going to get the same kind of endings in DA:2 depending on which path we go down. It certainly seems like it was hinted that some paths may be 'better' for characters than others, though to which extremes, I do not know.

Nothing is confirmed so far. We won't know until we play the game which Li's are the bisexual option. Although, it's safe to assume Isabella is a bi option

First, they're all bi!
Second, there is strong evidence (but not conclusive official confirmation) that Anders and Fenris are both bisexual romances. Check the M/M thread for deets.
