They didn't tell us who it was for DA:O, either. That info was leaked by some magazine, if I remember correctly.
And I'm sure that's what will happen this time around, too.

1. In Fenris's story, there is a part where he thinks to himself that he is glad they were Tevinter soldiers rather than mercenaries because he enjoyed killing the tevinter soldiers more than just mercenaries. Does that mean he feels guilty for killing mercenaries who have no ties to his past, or does it mean he doesn't care about killing mercenaries and just likes killing Tevinter soldiers more?
2. Merrill might be the sort who sort of stumbled into a position of leadership, and had to make some hard choices to try and help her clan. That could be very interesting psychologically.
3. Anders sounds....mature, while Justice/Vengeance sounds...immature. Probably not the best words for this, but it seems as if they sort of...switched roles, so to speak. I like the potential here.
4. The more I see/read of Isabela, the more I get the "Han Solo sitting in a cantina" vibe from her. She sounds like a bad-mamma-jamma. And fun too. It will probably be hard for me to not have her in my party.
Thanks Bioware!

No no you're supposed to pretend you think it's true so the devs provide clarification.

That'd be great, then we could actual choose who we wanted to have a relationship with instead of "X can only romance Y, and D, but not A or B"Ryzaki wrote...

Plus, it wouldn't be everyone. It would be 4 out of a possibility of 7 -8.

It's all about the characters and whether it makes sense or not.

And in what sense does one's sexual preference encroach upon any of the characters revealed as we know them? Or Thedas at large?

I hate when people try to justify something in videogames simply because "it's a game"Upsettingshorts wrote...

but to respond to your question, Because they are characters and have personailties that differ, And making everyone bi for the sake of fairness would be rather lame.

Anyway if I ever manage to get a Playstation 3 or a XBox Slim later on this year (so I can finally play games again,) I'll probably pass on the romance options for Dragon Age 2. (At least on the first playthrough!) Because once again there's only two romantic choices for a guy like me who doesn't like to play as a chick in a BioWare game...I kinda wish that Aveline Vallen was a romantic character but you take what you can get I suppose.
I hate to sound like an ungrateful bastard but I gotta be honest here man. I'm sorta underwhelmed with the female romantic interest(s) in Dragon Age 2. Because to me none of them look particularly interesting on a visual level. I mean Isabela looks Jack Sparrow if Jack was born a woman instead of a man. And Merrill just looks like a pale outcast who's been alone in the woods for way too long. Overall their visual appearances are not terrible they're just "Meh!" but hopefully their personalities will make up for that. I'm just not gonna romance them from the get-go that's all.

Not saying they do in this case. I'm too tired to really go into heavy examples.

I think what you're seeing may be Justice's (or Vengeance's) singular focus of destroying the Chantry and Templars struggling against Ander's recognition that Justice has changed somehow and may not be as beneficial or benevolent as he'd hoped. It reads as though they're an inseperable being and share their thoughts, so Ander's possible remorse or indecision is always going to be up against that singular focus of Justice. It isn't so much that Anders is mature or not, but a little more introspective than Justice.
He's going to be an interesting character for sure. I'll be interested to see how much of that inner dialogue comes out in game.

I only went there because your first response forced the issue. Fiction - a game or otherwise - can determine its own rules for itself, and as long as it sticks with them it doesn't have to mirror reality.

I do not care one bit about "fairness." Making all characters bi - or modifiable to preference based on the PC - seems like a low cost way to appeal to the largest possible audience. It's about resources, not fairness. And I do not ever play S/S romances myself.
The same question I asked above applies again: How does sexual preference conflict with the characters as we know them?

I'm not sure why BioWare even bothered to confirm Isabela because according to Wikia, it was pretty much confirmed from the get-go...I wish BioWare would've dropped a voice actress name along with the confirmation of something I already know but I guess they wanna kept details like that to themselves for now.

You're Welcome.
But I can't take all the credit. I am pretty sure I read something in these forums about someone comparing the two...(Maybe in the Isabela fan thread)
But yes, Isabela is the coolest
