Hmm, and yeah, just because it says in the guide that flirt doesn't always lead to romance, well we already knew that about Aveline ... so it doesn't mean it's about Fenris.

Also, I'd just like to say, there has been a bit of talk earlier in the thread about the difference between 'all-bi' and 'subjective sexuality'. I can't speak for anyone else, but personally, when I talk about 'all-bi' I'm using it as an umbrella term for all LIs being open to either gender of Hawke, no matter how that is implemented (whether they would all be bi, or whether there would be subjective sexuality involved). It's just, well, it's difficult to type all of that out each time you say 'I think they're all bi (or have been given a subjective sexuality whereby in one game they could be straight and another they could be gay depending on the actions of Hawke)'. <--- see, takes too long to type.

Interesting that the Isabela romance is mentioned as being more complex. I get the impression that like Jack you'll be able to do an "all sex" romance early on, but that'll ruin any chances of a proper relationship, hence needing to read the walkthrough for it.

I wonder if you did the 'let's bang now' path, that locks off a sweet, fluffy romance later, that you can pick up a romance with someone else later on?

I mean, in Origins you could start a romance with several characters at once, with varying levels of complication depending on who got pissed off about it and so on. So I suspect there will be scope to do the same here.

But this friendship/rivalry thing really does make things so much more interesting and complex than any other game I've played with romance in it. There seem to be so many variables, so many ways to pursue a romance, and so many ways to right royally **** it up.

The guide does not say one way or the other. I maintain the assumption that ANY love interest that is DLC would be of subjective sexuality. If both male and female Hawke can romance the DLC LI, Bioware makes more money.

As far as I know(I read it somewhere), your relationship progresses from friends with benefits to live-in lovers, so having sex with her the first time won't hinder your chances of getting a serious relationship with her.

One thing bothers me - both Anders and Fenris just seem so TORTURED. Brooding, dark, with so many problems. Isabela seems to be the only carefree, chill LI for females in the entire game(unless they're all bi and that seems highly unlikely to me) and that worries me, because I am tired of that "dark brooding male in need of a mother" schtick and I was hoping that we could get someone who is not so...tortured. Oh, well...

I am reading the Romance part in my guide before I make a Hawke, I am going for Merrill and I intend to get my Romance Trophy with her.

Who are the rest of you guys intending to get your Romance Trophy/Achievement with? And will you play with a different gender if they arent all bi?

Of course Hypothetically speaking with the second part because All are bi or Hawkesexual, whatever you prefer to call it
