UNLESS THE BIBLE IS A ROMANCE OPTION, we are so off-topic right now that it's out of control.

So, what does everyone think about the style of the new romance cutscenes, or what little has been released? Hate the underwear? Like that they're less tacky in trying to depict the actual act itself? What do we think Sebastian's scenes are going to look like, seeing as he's chaste and all?

I'm glad they stepped away from the DAO-type scenes. Those were... cringe-worthy. Granted, I've found nearly all of the sex-scenes cringe-worthy in some way, but those were the worst. It was probably the music, which I muted every time. I also don't mind the underwear. Much.

For Anders, I hope we get snark. Snark and playfulness in the bedroom. Him tossing a pillow at Hawke, or posing at the foot of the bed before diving onto it. A deep roads joke.

What I hope to see from Sebastian's romance is a lot of cuddling. Just him and Hawke lying in bed, curled around each other. Hand-holding in public. Lots of touching, on the shoulder or arm or wrist. That's what I want.

The others... I don't know, and don't care at this point. None of them have captured my intrest. That could change as the game progresses, though.

oh ok that's good. I tried to keep up with the religious discussion and add some points on it, but when everyone posts a comment every minute it gets hard to keep up lol.

Now I really don't know whether to be FHawke or MHawke and who to romance first. To be honest, in Origins the only reason I did a M/M romance with Zevran was for the lulz. Him and my Dwarf Noble getting it on was too funny and I was rolling around laughing for 5 minutes straight.

Speaking for myself I don't agree with A.) 

1st) No it doesn't have to be gender neutral.  Despite your claims otherwise Leliana did have some variation in the romance with regards to gender.  And I've romanced her as a male and female character in addition to wiki walks.

2.) I and I'm sure others do not agree that a gender neutral romance is inherently inferior.  If it is to you great, that's your opinion but realize it is not shared by all. 

Leliana's romance was largely gender neutral.  I think she commented on my muscles once or twice.  And from what I got in the strategy guide she talks about a femWarden's hair once to start the romance.  Morrigan referenced my character's maleness a lot more than Leliana.  Also, Morrigan talked about more than herself, she talked about herself and me as a couple, our future, etc.  Leliana was a lot like reading a biography.  " I did this, then I slept with my mistress, then I did this, then I did this, then this happened."  People who give me their life story get on my nerves.  And I think that this difference is due largely to the fact that the character was written gender neutral.

And as for number 2 (lol) I don't understand how gender neutral would not be inferior to a more in-depth conversation that references your character more.

Honestly, I can't think of anything (besides pronouns) that would be significantly changed if Morrigan or Alistair could be romanced by a same-gendered PC. :|a And, well, Zevran's the most rewarding romance for me in the end, no matter which gender I'm playing. The romance that resonates most with you depends not on the sexuality of the character (or the fact that their coding accounts for switching out a few gender specific lines), but which issues tug at your heartstrings the most.

the thing I hated about the underwear in Origins was how Morrigan, who was wearing no bra underneath her robes, somehow gets a magic bra

you would think that would go to Wynne to hold up her magical bosom

Now I just need to think. I'm romancing Anders first. Do I do it with F!Hawke? Seb is second, since his romance is apparantly very spoilery, and definitely F!Hawke with him. M!Hawke or F!Hawke?

Funny note: I played DAO with a gay male first as well.  It'd be tradition to play male again!
