All LI's are bi?  Nice!  Congrats guys.  Your chanting and optimism won the day!  I'm happy for you all.  Posted Image

Thanks so much!

I'm going to romance Anders first. I wrote a character sheet for my first Hawke in the m/m thread, so I won't copy it here. But he's a rogue with a deep distrust of the chantry, but not a political type, doesn't have strong views on what should happen re: mages/chantry. Just wants to keep Beth safe. Anders will have an impact on that. Which way hawke will fall will remain to be seen.

Anders first, definitely. My mage LadyHawke and him will have lots in common. My only fear is that all the other LI's will be so awesome that I might be tempted to stray. But no! I won't do that. Different play-throughs for different LI's.

Well actually I was planning on playing F!Hawke and M!Hawke simultaneously, as in switching between the two, because I'm indecisive and impatient.

Anders with my M!Hawke and Isabela with my F!Hawke, simply because I love both of them to iddie-biddie pieces. Probably Fenris with another F!Hawke and Merrill with another M!Hawke later on, after I get over my adoration of Anders and Isabela

Then i will put my hand on Fenris :D (because he hate mage, I will teach him how good mage are :P)
After that i will take care of Isabela. Brake her heart for Sebastian :D Or something :P I can wait... Only 6 days left in my country ^^

I think its great that they decided to do this, for the people that are interested in pursuing it, congrats to you guys.

While I don't really have an interest in pursuing one of the same sex love interests, but I'm interested to see how they handle it. For example will Fenris/Anders be hitting on my male Hawke, and I'll have to turn them down like Zevran? Or will they be seemingly straight unless I make an effort to pursue them? I'm interested to see how it's handled, and to hear the voice acting in said situations.

Yay! I'm so glad. <3

I'll be playing as Lady Hawke first. Haven't decided on Merrill or Isabela yet. Going to wait till I get the game and I get to know the two characters better as well as better define my Hawke's personality.

That's my point.  It's hypocritical.  Every time I meet someone who's religious who says they believe in ghosts I can't help but crack up.  If the Bible is true, then ghosts cannot exist.  Simple as that.

The Bible doesn't say anything one way or another about where the dead go, actually.

Heaven/Hell/ghosts all came about much, much later.

Have you ever read the Bible?  The New Testemant references Heaven and Hell many times.  Depending on which version it also mentions Purgatory.  It's been awhile since I've read the Old Testemant, so I couldn't say about that part.

I've read the Bible more times than anyone should ever have to, and I'm going to tell you right now that Heaven and Hell were developed later (they didn't exist in First Century Judiaism, of which Christianity is a sect)

Christ never once says that if you do good things, you go up, and if you do bad things, you down. Totally a Late Roman/Early Medieval invention.

I hate to continue religion debates but I thought I would toss in my few cents, probably being the only Eastern Orthodox on here (also ex-Catholic).

Your first point is wrong and your second point is half true, allow me to explain. The Jews did believe in an abode of the dead, that being Sheol. Sheol isn't an end to consiousness, but rather a seperation from the body in a dark gloomy place where people await the resurrection. The specific word that Jews and Christians use for death is "fallen asleep" and just like falling asleep and being in a dream you are without your body, but you are conscious. The view of the resurrection was not universal and it was rejected by the Priest class of the Sadduccees but accepted by all other sects such as the Pharisees, Essenes, Zealots, and so on. The reason why the Sadduccees did not believe in the resurrection or any form of consciousness after death is because they only accepted the Penteutech (Torah) as scripture which doesn't mention an afterlife. The prophets on the other hand do make reference to it, such as Daniel's prophecy of the resurrection “And many of them that sleep in the
dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt”. However, because the Sadduccees did not accept the Ketuviim (prophets), Ya'hshuah (Jesus' Aramaic name) used the Torah to refute them "But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken unto you by God saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living". Anyways you were right about the Western concept of Hell; it came about in the Middle Ages in the Roman Catholic Church to scare and entertain (in a very macabre way). This belief came about in the dark ages while the Roman Church was seperated from the main body of the Church and their theology and overall character went to ****. It's also a hangover doctrine that the Protestants kept after the Reformation.

The Eastern Orthodox and Rabbinic Jews have a very different concept of Hell. I'm no expert of the Jewish concept, though I know it involves some form of annihilationism, but I can explain the Eastern Orthodox. The Orthodox belief is that seperation from God is impossible with hime being omnipresent, but the state of those in the world to come relies on their relationship with their Father. If you do research concerning miracles in the Bible you will notice a recurring theme of heavenly fire such as the Burning Bush, and Elijah calling down fire from heaven to consume. It's the same thing; the glory of God, though you'll notice that it can do several things. The faithful who are in communion with God are filled with his love and his spirit like the Apostles who recieved the Holy Spirit from tongues of fire, who like the Burning Bush were on fire but not consumed. The wicked on the other hand, much like the priests of Baal while in the presence of God will be consumed by their guilt and shame; his presence is agony to those who hate him. Imagine being in the room with an estranged father you hate and whom you feel like you failed. Now imagine this on a cosmic all consuming level for eternity.

The Orthodox do believe that the dead may tarry on Earth for a time, but you will notice that most of these spirits are immensely troubled and hold to the Earth by sheer willpower alone. This is why most reports of ghosts describe them as a shadow of their former selves, very angry, or very sad. A spirit might also be disturbed and summoned from Sheol via necromancy which is shown in the book of Kings when Saul has the Witch of Endor summon Samuel from the grave (Sheol) to give him council. This sort of sorcery is forbidden for obvious ethical reasons and simply for safety, because you never know if your really talking to the right person.

Now concerning the place of the dead after life. First there is Sheol which is a foretaste of what is to come, in which there is the hopefull blissful Bosom of Abraham for the righteous dead and then there is the dark gloomy abode of the wicked who await the resurrection with apprehension. Then there is Tartarus, better known as the pit, which is the unique place of punishment for the fallen Angels and the Watchers (I believe the Book of 1Enoch to be inspired). At the ressurection we are reunited with our bodies and awake to the judgement wherin we are judged by the law or recieve the mercy of Christ so long as we trusted in him and did not judge others by the law we were freed from. At this point the righteous achieve theosis or a reunion with God, while the wicked are cut off for the spiritual sake of the righteous.

Sorry to get all preachy and stuff, I just like to clear up Western misconceptions.

Is it unprofessional of me to jump into the air, while at work, shouting " I CAN FINALLY HAVE ANDERS!"

Yea, needless to say, I'm having Anders first ^.^

Only if you're a judge presiding over a case, or a surgeon performing heart surgery. I reckon in every other profession it's perfectly acceptable.

quick question, when has gaider, laidlaw, or any other bioware dev confirmed all LIs being bi, or is the all that just interpretation from the leaks?

just wondering because everyone is making a big deal about these leaked games and havent seen the female playthrough.

I would like to know this as well. However, I don't think there is a dev confirmation but there is some strong evidence supporting the all bi theory.

Actually, finnish gaming magazine Pelaaja said in their review (DA2 got 9/10) that side-characters (literal translation of the word) can have their own private lovelives separate from the PC, so anything is possible ^_^ I guess we'll see soon enough...

I was reading this page and thinking 'Oh, this page is so positive! Everyone is nice and joyful and... oh no religious debate >_<'

Anyways, I don't think we've any OFFICIAL confirmation yet, and we probably won't until the game release.

For you (and anyone else interested who wasn't on yesterday) I can pretty much confirm this is all true.  Someone got a (legit) early copy of the game and player out the Anders and Fenris romances on a livestream (not entirely, but enough to show case that Hawke could flirt with them, and they could flirt back.)

For SPOILERS... read below, but you'll have to highlight because I don't want to give anything away for people who aren't interestined.

*edit*

Alright, I'm taking out the spoilers because for some reason, the color codes aren't working, so I can't hide the text from people who don't want to read it. =(

If you're interested to know what happened in the livestream though, feel free to PM me.

Hmm. Now I have until the 11th to plan out my Hawkes and their romances. My first playthrough will be based on decisions i'd make. She won't be based on my appearance, too strange looking for that, but she will have my personality and she will romance Isabela since Izzy is gorgeous and if this was happening in real life, Izzy would be my choice.

For the male playthroughs i'll pair them with male LI's but i'll have to plan out my Hawke first, since it won't stem from personal preference. It depends how I RP them as to who they end up with. Might do an evil playthrough too. Y'know, some cheating maybe make an LI jealous and angry.

In spite of all the evidence in my face, a small portion of me still won't believe it. I want it to be true, but I can't 100% commit to believing it. I'll wait till I get the game to hopefully prove to me wrong and that they are all bi.

My first character is going to be M!Hawke with a thing for Aveline. My FemHawke will probably end up going for Anders. But, FemHawke is subject to change based on how the characters actually act in game.
