I actually hope you're right....I don't like it when game characters look like they were made from geometric plastic.

I really don't understand the celebration of some characters NOT being LI's. After all, you could have just not romanced them were they available. Seems a tad mean-spirited.

Because from a resource perspective, allowing some romances would have come at the expense of other romances we wanted more. Hence the celebration.

Selfish maybe.  Mean spirited, not really.

Still a bit sad at the lack of Varric and Aveline being romancable but c'est la vie. Anders as an LI will prove to be... interesting, to say the least.

Though I wasn't really speaking about you specifically, I'll go ahead and use your words as an example. It just seems odd to me to put it that way. "No Varric? YAAAAY!" comes off, to me, like a mean spirited jab at those who wanted Varric as an LI. As though you were rooting for his absence, not because it would give you your preferred options, but more because so many people wanted him and you didn't so now you can gloat that he's unromanceable.

It just seems like you would have been "Yay Anders" or "Yay Fenris" or "Yay Anders and Fenris" rather than "Yay, no Varric!" But, it's just a perception/semantics thing. No biggie.

Well, I was deciding whether to do a male or a female mage. I'll probably do a female mage and romance Anders. I want to know whether my mage and his apostate/revenant self will clash.

Well, for me it really is all three. Varric is the only option that IMO would have found to be a total waste of romance resources if it meant that we then wouldn't have Anders and/or Fenris.



I'm indifferent between Aveline or Merrill as I like them equally (distantly behind my like of Isabela), but I didn't feel strongly either way about Aveline so I didn't mention her.



I know a lot of people are disappointed over Varric (something that continues to elude me as to why no matter how many posts I read in his thread) but people would have been disappointed over Anders or Fenris too.



Now if they just made all 6 potential LI's and made them all Bi I'd support that too. Whose to say it's not realistic that my Hawke would only recruit people who might want to date him? lol
