Well based on what I've been hearing  the "bi-ness" is far less apparent and are just generic romances (likely with near identical dialogue) to fit with either gender.

Perhaps you could play the game first or not base your opinions on hearsay?

Fenris and Merril may not be "truly" bisexual as they were obviously "Bi-ed" up at the last minute.

Could you elaborate on how you reached that conclusion? Especially the "obvious" part...

Regardless of how their romances play out in the game ... you say they were 'bi-ed up at the last minute'. Orly? Yes. Well. See my previous reply to you.

You think Bioware was forced to make everyone bi? If anything, they had free will to do whatever the hell they wanted with their game. It just turns out they decided for everyone to be accessible to either gender. Is that so wrong? Then again, I still don't understand why it's considered fanservice that all 4 options are "Hawkesexual", which isn't true because Anders and Isabela aren't only making adjustments for Hawke; they're genuinely attracted to both men and women. It's a part of who they are.

That said, I'm assuming relationships with either Anders or Isabela aren't going to be generic mainly because of their status as canon bisexuals.

Wait... what?

RetroActiv said that a Bethany romance might be "more interesting".

I meant that including Bethany as a romance options would have been more interesting than simply making everyone bi not that it would be more interesting or "above" than bi love intersts in general which I support by the way. ;)

If the playerbase dictated Bioware's choices so much, there would be only female love interests, all armours looked like bikinis on women and there would be a boob slider.

I hope you realise that generalising like this is rather offensive.

We have something to push for in the next game.

Indeed. I want a boob slider.

I'm sick of everyone having nice melons.

My Hawke will be the only one with big boobs in Thedas.

Indeed, chainmail bikinis for women, Conan loincloths for men.  I find it offensive that BioWare has not implimented this fantasy stapel, for shame BioWare, for shame I say!! :P

Expressing opinions based on hearsay and speculation is basically all this thread has been about. "They're all bi" was merely heresay until recently and we saw how that turned out. Ultimately  will see soon enough

This wasn't supposed to be a personal attack on you.  I was talking more about the people that have been openly and unapologetically homophobic.  I guess my problem with people saying they wouldn't  want to be with someone because they are attracted to both sexes seems closed-minded to me.  That being said, I can understand that not everyone thinks the way I do.  Evidently there is a straight romance option though if you count Sebastian, but he is a little celibate for my tastes.  All in all, I hope that it won't make such a big difference to you.  But if you enjoyed Zevran's romance, it probably won't be a huge issue :)

The only straight romance being celibate, that's got to be some kind of joke.  Hardy har har Bioware!   I don't have his DLC, so not even an issue for me (not sure if I'll get it or not).

"Closed minded," well people tend to be attracted to those like them- for the most part.  I just can't relate to that outlook so it puts me outside myself more, the same way that playing a male character, I was at more of a distance and mostly putting myself in the female LI's shoes as I was playing it.  There is also the issue that others have brought up, that Fenris' and Merrill's "status" being so unclear and seemingly keyed to fanservice rather than their story is something that makes me less enthused about them as LIs.  And since they were the two I was planning to go with... well, I don't like Isabela and have no interest in Anders, so I probably will stick to the original plan, but overall it adds to my sense of pessimism about the game.

I hear you. I totally thought Bioware would be above caving into to the petty and irrational demand of making all love interests bisexual. Fenris and Merril may not be "truly" bisexual as they were obviously "Bi-ed" up at the last minute. It definitely makes me wonder how seriously they've taken the game in general. I  totally share your pessimism.

This "ur closed minded if ur not gay" is just stupid and when someone says something that stupid one can simply reply "ur closed minded if ur not hetero".

Personally I'm glad Bioware caved in at the last minute. They bowed to our threats to unleash the pink fluffy unicorns if they didn't.

For DA3, I think we should demand every NPC is bi too. Or, y'know, the unicorns get unleashed....

Pity I am not working for BW since if I have a choise, I would rather die fighting (defending) for what I believe than of old age. Just play fair and no torture!

Sweetheart, you are aware not everyone here is gay or bisexual, yes? Out of the people who are happy the LIs are bi. Out of the people who think it's a good thing ... because ... well, I think you missed that.

That's an interesting arguement. Often when people who oppose same gender romace arcs in general cite the fact that the core audiance ultimately has little to no interest therefore shouldn't be included. I often see those who support them dispute that claim.

We certainly underestimated the power of fluffy unicorns!  Oh well, I'll start drawing up my list of demands for DA3!
