I'm 99,9% sure that was a bug.
Anyway, people are saying that Fenris is the bi option on the sole grounds of him being an elf and Anders not expressing interest in men in Awakening. In my opinion, that's not evidence enough. By that same logic, Anders has chances too, because his gifts in Awakening were, what, an earring and a scarf. And a cat. An adorable tabby kitten.
Henry VIII liked to wear ruffles and jewelry. He also banged a ton of women. Even ignoring that you're applying modern ideas to a very different time, someone's taste in clothing and love of pets is far from an indicator of their sexual preferences.
I think a lot of people are basing their assumptions on Anders on stereotypes. "He wears a skirt" "he owns a cat" "he grooms himself and dresses nice".. Well, most all of the mages did dress in fancy robes. They also had satin pillows and other fine things. Theirs was a guilded cage, it makes sense that he would get used to the finery. As for the cat, he has a very reasonable reason for wanting Ser Pounce. Not that he needed a reason since having a cat indicates nothing but a love of cats.
That said, at first I assumed he was straight not only because of his clear interest in women, and also the line where Oghren says, "Oh no, big Templar man! What are you going to do with that sword?" and he replies, "Ew."
But upon further reflection, I've realized that one can hardly equate Oghren's joke about a Templar (which Anders already hates) presumably assaulting him to a consensual relationship with another man.
In conclusion, is he bi? Who can tell? I do wish they'd just make all of them bi and be done with it, I'm kind of bored with this 'this character is more bi than this character because of (insert silly assumption)'.
