I agree with your whole post, I do think it's daft to take issues with characters when we have not even met them, but I do like that one idea I bolded, a pirate nun would be awesome

I think there's a lot more to Fenris than people are seeing just like there was a lot more to Zevran than people saw. I can't believe I killed Zevran in my first few playthroughs of DAO then my son said to recruit him so I did and I adore him (not in a romance kind of way) but I love him as a best friend to my female Warden. He proves completely loyal to the end if you show that you are truly his friend.

Regarding looking gay - meh. I think there is a stereotype that has been propogated, so I can understand someone making that assumption as shortsighted as it is.



Frankly, I don't think Fenris looks gay so much as Emo. What with the swished white hair and tats with the skin tight armour. Definitely Emo.

I'm lost. I didn't specify that the post was targeted to men. I've seen complaints from both genders, who feel their LIs are more important that someone else's favorite character (and therefore feel threatened) or are threatened themselves by said character.

I find it silly that both the Fenris and Anders complaint sections include statements of intimidation and envy on the part of male forum members:
" Because I cannot stand comparing my appearance to a fantasy character, therefore feel very inadequate when women online that I don't know are busier fawning"
" Because ladies are still interested in him, I find him still threatening and would recommend you make him look like a sack of meat or at least a broodmother."
Yet neither Meril nor Isabela's complaints sections include anything similarly specifying envy or intimidation on the part of female forum members.

My point was simply that those two complaints are universal and shouldn't really be reserved for just people criticizing Fenris and Anders.

Fenris: Beiber hair? White hair? Anime bishie? OMG, really? And he looks SO gay. And an elf. And tattoos. Because I cannot stand comparing my appearance to a fantasy character, therefore feel very inadequate when women online that I don't know are busier fawning and appreciating a fantasy character as opposed to ME who they SHOULD fawn over, I would prefer you just get rid of him all together or replace him with an unnattractive qunari.
