What does this mean? You can't tell a character's personality based on screenshots.

Anders doesn't strike me as the type. Purely based upon stereotype, Fenris' lithe and feminine frame seems more of the m/m option. Plus I think Justice is in love with Kristoff's wifeEncandescent wrote...

Alright, I can see how some people might be a bit peeved because they haven't specifically announced a M/M romance yet...but seriously people, they just confirmed the four romanceable character's YESTERDAY. Based on playing DA:O, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that either Anders or Fenris is going to be M/M romanceable. My money is on Fenris, since with his whole "I am inhabited by a demon" thing I just can't see it happening with Anders.
If Anders is able to romance a woman while possessed, why would he be unable to romance a man?
Alright, point taken...some part of my brain is still trying to imagine him as a romanceable option at all, some part of me was hoping for Varric. With the whole possession thing, Anders may be a bit of a "Bad Boy" (granted the pictures I've seen of Fenris indicate he might be one too), and there seem to be a number of games/books/etc out there where girls fall for the bad boy type. Anders might be romanceable by both. It should be interesting to see either way.

Seriously?
That said, to my opinion, and bear in mind this is only my opinion, looking at the screenshots of Fenris, he has a bit of a "bad boy" look to him.

It is a decent question. I believe she was confirmed as a romanceable love interest for both male and female PCs in an announcement on the DragonAge homepage at some point last week.uuuhcantthinkofaname wrote...
Just a question: Does it say anywhere that Isabella is F/F? The fact that you could sleep with her in Origins as a female doesnt really mean much to me.
Just curious.

Pity there isn't more story analysis/discussion and less arguing over boob sizes, etc. in here - oh well.
I think that idea is quite a smashing one! So I'm going to attempt that, but not before giving HolyJellyfish the gold star of the evening. You are awesome and patient and bada**! I've been following this discussion for a while and you handled it remarkably well. I salute you!
Definitely going to do two playthroughs with two female Hawkes for Fenris<3 and Isabela:wub: and maybe Anders for third..hehehe
Soooooo...Merrill's story. I'm curious about the demon trapped in the statue. What does "it" know? Are we going to find out more about Arlathan in this game! What do you guys think? Let's play a speculation game? Based on what we've read how do these backstories cultivate character traits. What do they reveal about the characters? Some are more obvious than others, certainly but it shall be fun!
Let's change the tenor a little, please?
In regards to the statue - well it is inhabited by a demon so there's a good chance it is lying. if not then i suspect that maybe the next "big" conflict for the DA universe will have a lot to do with the elves and elven culture
edit - didnt think about what "thesuperdarkone" said, it could be true that is is possed and maybe that is why she was kicked out

Really? She's been confirmed as a bisexual, and as a LI and as someone who flirts with FHawke. How much more confirmation do people need?

Just finished reading the stories. Isabela is my favorite, 'cause she broke that guy's finger for touching her. Now that is badass. Imagine what she does to someone who pulls a knife on her? My Hawke (male) would pretty much be in love the moment she threatened to break bones for a minor transgression regarding manners.

So.... a schizophrenic psychopath abomination and a ridiculous J-pop "ooh, I'm a troubled elf who's been mistreated by humans" freak are the two LI for the girls?
It seems that love is a niche market in BioWare's eyes. An utter disappointment. I'm actually quite pissed off. Who are they targeting?
Hey, I happen to like schizophrenic psychopath abominations! Ask my husband!
Besides, there'll also be either a pirate (shiver me timbers, anyone?), or ... well, another troubled elf who may have been mistreated by humans. But a smaller, cute one without a lyrium condition. Besides, normal, unproblematic, emotionally stable LIs tend to = Jacob. Not the priiiiize I'm looking for.
You don't think LI:s like, for example, Alistair and Leliana were more easily accessed to players who weren't mindless JRPG-elf fangirls? There was backstory there, and complications with their previous lives, but without them being the biggest freaks on Thedas. I'm all for complicated characters, but why can't they create characters who won't immediately put people off with incessant brooding and pointy ears?
My lawful good FemHawke will just have to go through ten years without love, only stealing glances at Sebastian

I loved Isabela's but I'm biased. I thought Merrill's had the best voice.

I loved Isabela's too, but I think Anders' story was runner up for me, probably because he was the character I was most curious about. I wanted to know what happened to him between Awakening and DA:2.
The flesh eating and blood drinking turns my stomach, but it's also very tragic. I never would have guessed that he'd become an abomination, but I guess the Chantry of Andraste and Templars were just putting too much presssure on him.

Not so sure he's an abomination yet... he seems to be struggling to keep Justice (Vengeance) from going berserk on everyone. You think setting up his little healy-hut was Justice's idea?

I know what you mean. Originally, from reading Anders' Bio, I got the impression he was in firm control of himself, and that Vengeance was deeply suppressed, but when I watched this video, it seemed like his control wasn't as secure as I'd initially assumed.
From the short story, it also seems like Anders and Justice/Vengeance have 'become one', though this is all admittably very little to go by.
I guess it depends on how flexible your definition of abomination is. I know some people take a very firm stance on this issue, stating that even Wynne from DA:O was an abomination, but I'm waiting to play the game before I make a solid judgement. Waiting impatiently. xD
As for the healing hut, I think there was an article in a gaming magazine about Anders' healing hut that suggested it was a cover up for something else, but I didn't read said article myself, so I have no idea. xD I was kind of hoping it was an Anders move though, since it seemed like something that would be inline with his character.
