The fact that Anders apparently enjoys Soylent Green is much weirder than demonic possession. That's just my opinion though :P

To be honest, I kind of like the idea that I once heard mentioned of all love interests being romanceable, with the bisexual LIs being bisexual, and the "straight" LIs being either straight /or/ gay, depending on cues at the beginning. It shouldn't be too hard to have a slightly flirtatious comment in meeting them that triggers whether or not they bed or bro you. I know it's probably horrible from a coding standpoint, but I'd kind of like the option to date a straight character, a bi character, OR a gay character. I don't know. It would just be nice to be able to romance, say, Alistair (or whoever) as a guy and have alistair like guys and guys alone, or as a girl and have him ga ga for my "assets" :) Of course, in the end, I'm just glad they give us such wonderful and in-depth characters to romance. Alistair's rose made me a happy rogue :)

Why the hell do people care if LI are bi?

Just...why?

Because there are bisexual people who worry that they won't be able to carry out a romance option like that. That's all.

I, as a Bisexual person, think that Bioware does freaking awesome withe thier bisexual characters.

Equal representation would be two straight characters, two bisexual characters, and two gay characters. 'LGBT' is not a sexual orientation.

Not that equal representation is inherently good or something BioWare would desire.

Do people really pay $60 for a game and then choose to skip massive amounts of content?

Yes.

For example, in Knights, Jade Empire, ME 1+2, and DA:O, I never do any of the 'evil' actions. In DA:O, I only played through the game once as a human noble.

Though to be honest, you really aren't missing much considering that there aren't that many 'evil' actions to begin with. More like morally ambiguous.

To me that reads like "There are no birds in the yard. They're more like chickens." If something is 'evil' then it's probably morally ambiguous to someone, otherwise it would just be evil.

To be sure, I think most choices in the game are clearly good or evil as good and evil are cultural constructs.

If there's a choice between murdering the werewolves, murdering the elves, or curing the werewolves, and I say I always pick the good option, does anyone struggle to figure out which option I'm choosing? What about kill Connor, kill Isolde, or perform a ritual so the demon is removed and no one is hurt? If I say I always pick the good option, most people know what I mean.

Do they agree that these are good? Not necessarily. Do they know what I mean when I say it? Typically. And that's the most we can ask of a word, that when someone uses it, you know what they mean.

Hmmmm, I think I might take back my original statement and say that there is a good and evil option when it comes to Dragon Age. I think I was thinking of the few options that were morally ambiguous like whether you take Lohgain or Alistair. Some choices may be tough, but all and all, the choices presented in the game weren't in the grey morality as BioWare was originally aiming. I think that some characters were too good to the point of boring such as Alistair and Leliana. The thing is, the problem is that there was a "right choice" in Dragon Age so it failed to meet the expectations it had of being a dark fantasy series like A Song of Ice and Fire.

But anywho, I have tendency to ramble on sometimes. Sorry.

This is something I have said numerous times, too. No one's toes get trodden on and everyone gets to think their LI is only hot for them.
All it needs is a trigger comment that defines your character's preference (doesn't have to be out there.... can be a subtle trigger - example - Talking about a past love and the player can state 'I loved him', or 'No, I haven't met the right woman yet', kind of thing..........) Something inocuous, or even three simple choices
''I haven't met the right man yet''
''I haven't met the right woman yet''
''I haven't met the right man or woman yet''
Really simple example for ease of explanation :)

I just thought of something. Isabella seems to be the cannon romance option. Bioware never does a bi-cannon romance. Isabella is straight in DA2, Merille is bi. Yes, yes, oh bloody yes.

Although I'd like Merrill to be bi I don't see Isabella being made straight especially after her romp in the pearl.

Except Isabela balatantly flirts with FHawke in the live demo.

Also what is a canon romance?

PS- Making everyone romance bi would be a waste of resources. Unless you don't want those romances to be gender-specific? Which would make no sense...

I always thought Ashley was the default. Also, anything can be retconned or ignored.

I havent been following this game as much as i should I hope the romances are more like BG2 rather than DAO. Viconia was awesome because I would end up romancing her even when I set out to romance another.

ROFL she isn't. The asari (for the millionth time) are mono-gendered (one gender) not non gendered and that gender is female, sorry but that woman is a woman and I am not interested :) I like men, I like men that look like men I do not like men who have a bosom............
:)
And tbh, it was just BioWare excusing a F/F relationship with a contrived view of Asari.
If you think long and hard enough you can justify anything........... :)

Yeah, thus the "equal representation-ISH" in my comment. LGBT is not an orientation, but it does describe a community that can be represented... I'd consider a bisexual, or a lesbian, or a transman, or an intersexed person to all be valid representatives. But, alas, I have little hope that we'll see anything beyond a bisexual-leaning-straight in a BioWare game, just given budget/writing/audienceship constraints which are understandable but lamentable.

I don't think this is necessarily true... the voice actors might have to say a couple lines over to replace "he" with "she" and maybe a specific dialogue line to trigger the same-sex option. Granted, I'd love it if the romances played out differently if your player character was a different gender, but I'm not even at the stage of hoping for that kind of delivery.

I have an idea! How about we just love someone for who they are and not worry about sexual preferences in games? I mean I know sexual orientation in real life defines all these hard lines across which some genders don't wish to cross but in games I feel like we should just love the character we want and if it works out it does, if it doesn't, it doesn't. Making a character strictly one way or the other just seems a bit callous because it has nothing to do with the character's personality or story: it's just making them that way to fit the player. I want to feel like my characters are living on their own and I walked into the story, that way the romances and the idea of being wooed is just so much more meaningful. That is just my opinion however, no offense to anyone that might disagree with it.

I personally thinking sexual orientation definitions are too limited and not understanding of the fact that the human heart loves who it loves. We should just be allowed to love who we want and not have to define it as some sexual parameter set forth by society.

This is pretty much how I feel, especially the bolded part. :) I want the characters to feel like real characters, not people who change at the whims of the player or something like that. I also don't like the notion that the character should be attracted to the PC just because the player is attracted to them.
