Does anyone think romancing Anders might be a little wierd concidering Justice is in him? I can see it now.
Anders: I can't believe we're finally going to make love Hawk.
Justice: ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL! I KNOW YOU FEEL THIS HAWK! BEND TO US!
''I'LL TAKE IT''!
Oh god you two ... gonna be laughing all day at that

I just thought of something. Isabella seems to be the cannon romance option. Bioware never does a bi-cannon romance. Isabella is straight in DA2, Merille is bi. Yes, yes, oh bloody yes.
Liara.

Justice for all we know could be gay and sees a chance to pursue that and Anders might be straight or vise-visa Anders is gay and Justice is straight. But Hopefully you guys get my point.
Hmm. Justice was a spirit of justice and is now a demon of vengeance. I am not sure they even have a sexuality to begin with, seeing that they usually have no body, and that Justice was more than a little bit irritated when he found himself incarnated.
I could see a desire demon adapting to ones preferences, but neither justice nor vengeance seem to lend itself to romance. Nonetheless, I hope Anders is available for my male chars.

After weeks of speculation I just found the following tidbit of information in the PC Player review which might interest you guys.
"... DA2's romantic options are unconstrained. You meet a party member chances are you can bone them (your sibling is on fortunate exception) Male, female, amalgamation of human and spirutal manifestation of justice, all are fair game. ..."
So I take, there is someone for anyone to choose from when picking your love interest.
After reading the review, I can't wait to get my hands on the game. (And no, not just because of the romance options)
I've been Lil Miss Pessimist Pants on the whole issue of 'everyone will be bi' ... because really, we're all jumping to a hell of a lot of conclusions, and, you know, it's not like we've ever been burned over that before ...
However, maybe it's just the way they worded it or something, but jeez if that doesn't just sound like the most hopeful piece of information ever. There's a tiny, miniscule piece of my mind (and heart) that is starting to believe it might, just might, be that all 4 can be romanced by mHawke and fHawke. The bigger part of my mind, the sensible part, is trying to squish the hopeful part ... but I nearly let out an anticipatory squee just then.
Nearly.

I hope there isn't a canon LI, it would be nice if the game treats all LI's equally *mumbles darkly about Mass Effect*

@Jenova - Kaidan will always be the canon romance as far as I'm concerned; Mack Chudson-Walters' raging asari-fetish be damned.

I believe Gaider said the game wasn't written that way, sadly. Not that it's a great hindrance in any way =)makenzieshepard wrote...

I know that chances are laughably poor but where did Gaider say that? I vaguely recall that discussion but I seem to remember it being vague enough to be open to interpetation. Almost certainly incorrect interpetation but open none the less.

The four romanceable companions were confirmed in the first post of this very thread friend. What were were discussing was which of those four will be open to same sex romances, since the Bioware devs wanted to be evil:

Ser Priestly may we inquire as to which romance are open to which genders?
Remember where I said:
"To learn more about the romances, you will need to play Dragon Age 2."?
Yeah...

A few of us are clinging on to the barest shred of hope that all romanceable companions might be romanceable by both genders.

You mean this thread perhaps social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/5687716 ? I didn't find anything saying that they wouldn't do it for DA2, just that they didn't choose to do it for DA:O. Closest quote I can (by Mr. Gaider) find is: "There's absolutely nothing wrong with making all romances accessible to
any gender. It just requires a different approach, from a writing
standpoint..." and "Would we do this? I'm not really going to say one way or the other-- but
if we did I think it's safe to assume we wouldn't set out to implement
it in the worst way possible."

Reading through David's comments, it sounds like he is talking about the every-LI-is-bi concept as an option to be considered in the future... which would mean DA2 doesn't have it...

Actually since that post is in reference to DAO and he is talking about the future... which DA2 is in regards to when this post was made... it is very well possible he was giving us some foreshadowing that the DA2 romances would be open to all genders >_> one can only hope...

People are saying that having four bi companions is unrealistic, but it doesn't have to be done like that. What they could do is have the char you initiate your romance with align their preference to the gender of Hawke. So in essence only one char in the party is gay in a S/S romance. That way you get the char you want depending on the gender you play and the romance you follow. So the game adapts to the player. Your game is then your own personal experience and you don't have to worry about how everyone else is playing it.
That's how I think it should be too. If it's Hawke initiating things there's no trouble of unwanted romances popping up.
