This is a romances confirmed thread and people are macking on Bethany. Its a bit creepy and off topic. You can argue it all you like about how friendly, supportive, nice, sweet, and teddybear you are, but it turns a lot of people away who cannot make the disconnection that Dragon Age 2 is a RPG, Hawke is the character you are living fantasy vicariously through, and Bethany is still forever your sister.

A good place to start a sexy Bethany dialogue is her own thread. But this thread has gone a weird place for me now.

Now now, I did in fact say that they would probably make a mod to romance Bethany. I don't think anyone here has said he loves her, though. I mean, sex isn't always about love. Just look at Isabela.

On that note, are people thinking that Isabela is going to have a two-pronged romance like Jack in ME2? Like you can have a "it's just sex" or "it's true love" path?

They could have avoided all of this incest talk if only they had made the siblings ugly, as it happens they made her the best looking female in the game, on physical looks alone none of the other females in the game appeal (thank god for mods), hell even Hawkes mum looks hotter than them, in a MILF kind of way.

The moral of the story, make the siblings ugly if you don't want people wanting to hook up with them or make the other females in the game better looking.

Of course this is all down to personal opinion, I realise there are some people out there who want to romance Aveline and her manly man face, each to their own.

Why Bethany has a better style than other women? Why make a physical as sexy? I know it's the sister of the champion but then I tell myself that Bioware was amused to want to torture us with this forbidden fruit.

Pure, sexy, a real woman, without being too provocative.

On the main topic, I'm curious as to how Meril falls for Hawke, I don't mean cause he's attractive, I just mean I wonder what personality traits she seeks. For example, I view a approval Isabella as hot, humorous, and some sleezy chat. I view a rival Isabella as hot, steamy, and full of passion. I view a approval Merill as loving, and kind. Rival Merill? I just don't know. Can she be feisty?



As for Bethany, completely agree with the ugly comment. In BG 1 and 2 , when Imoen ended up having a better model, and picture then some of your other romance options, people turned to mods. Regardless of the fact she was basically your adoptive sister. You make a hot char, people will be drawn to them, especially female. Add to that Bethany was one of the first pics of npcs in DA2 we saw, and your in a Aveline situation. You have people who had planned a romance long before the confirmed romances came out. Personally I'll wait for the mod that makes Aveline a romance option.

I really, really want this. I also wonder if there will be a somewhat fulfilling partial romance (as opposed to the crushingly downer rejection from Samara in ME2), because I seem to remember a developer said along the lines of "Well, after 10 years her husband has been dead a long time." Like, maybe you never sleep together but at the end of the 10 years it's like a "Okay, I'm ready to love again" and it's a romantic and optimistic note without a completed romance. Then maybe in the expansion pack... bah, I'm getting overly optimistic now.

I'm under the impression that Merrill has been abandoned by her clan and has no one left but the current entourage Hawke brings with him/her.

Rival Merrill could be that she is so frustrated and irritated with M!Hawke, that she can't help but like him. I get the impression she'll probably be far more cheeky, sarcastic, and smartmouthed with a Rival Hawke. It'll be cute.
