I like your story best.Jennifer Brandes Hepler wrote...
The stories are all by the writers of the characters. I wrote the Anders story, Dave Gaider wrote Fenris, Sheryl Chee wrote Isabela and Mary Kirby wrote Merrill.

It's too bad Varric isn't romanceable. Just a nice voice too.
God, Varric's voice.
I've watched the opening cutscene of DA:2 so many times for that voice. Good casting job, there.

Yea he is a definite stand out of the cast, But fenris also has an amazing voice, and i'm sure Merrils will be distinct too.MorningBird wrote...

Finally! Now then, I hope the love scenes don't involve underwear dry humping and are done tastefully like ME or ME2 at least. If not, I'd prefer at least a fade to black scene
Yeah, I really hope they're similar to the ME2 love scenes.
PS: On a separate note, I apologize for my off-topicness earlier.

I can't wait to hear Merrill's voice, actually. I 'm quite fond of Welsh accents. (=

Completely agree. Didn't one of the devs (Mary?) say she's adorable? The idea of an adorable blood mage intrigues me.

some just dabble in it, From the looks of her short story she looks intrested in the dark side of magic, but not completley knowing of it.

Yes! This! You guys have no idea how cute Merrill is. I work here and and I still squee when she says things I haven't heard.
There's a lot of this in the writer pit:
Merrill (in-game): (something unbelievably cute)
Sheryl: GIGGLESQUEE!!!!! SO CUTE!!!
Mary: Hee hee.
Sheryl: She's so adorable I love her and want to hug her omgIcan'tbelievehowadorablesheisCAN-I-NOM-HER-HEAD?!

I think there was a screenshot taken (although, I don't know where you'd find it now, sorry!) where Merrill was asking a question of Lady!Hawke.
Her dialogue line was something like this: "But the spirits helped, didn't they?"
And I think Lady!Hawke had the option of saying this: "Spirits? You mean demons!"
Once again, I don't know if this quote is correct, as I saw this screenshot a LONG time ago, but like I said, a squishy blood mage would be interesting. xD

Wouldn't it be infinetly better if you let the players find that out by themselves during the course of the game?
To get to know the characters and develop a liking or not, a "relationship" of some sorts with the NPCs and if so inclined let the players themselves try to "make a move", with unknown outcome, just like in, you know, real life?
And you sacrificed that for the sake of what?

People kept making spam threads about romances and this would stop them, knowing the romances gives fans a chance of discussion and how the romance would be like, knowing the romance will mean you know who you should give attention to instead of ignoring them for someone who isn't romanceable, and it gives us some food for thought about implications like Merrill's romance

I wonder if they'll have the kiss option as in DA:O and if it'll be available for all LI characters not just two.
You may kiss only Merril.

MorningBird, I actually didn't. You might notice that i did not complain about the romances being spoilered for me, I am only very, very irritated by BioWare's decision to make the game what I see as less enjoyable.
It might be more enjoyable for some, to know which character you can romance and thus boiling it down to just do and say the right things at the right time. Only that this seems very formulaic for me and it seems to take a lot of "life" out of this aspect of the game.
I honestly did not think that BioWare would do such a thing.

I wasn't talking to you specifically, but people who share your opinion in general.
You may be upset that the LI were announced to the public, but then, it's your prerogative to avoid the contents of this topic. Maybe even the entire board, if you're super paranoid, and I don't mean this as an insult. Spoilers are all over the place right now, and if they're something that ruins the game for you, I would simply stay away.
If keeping the romances secret enriches your experience, more power to you.
Other fans, however, have been waiting to hear this news for weeks, and were even speculating that it would become available on Valentine's Day. They have different motivations for wanting to know this information before the game is release, and those reasons are no more or less valid than your own.
If learning this stuff in advance enriches THEIR experience, more power to them.
That being said, we know who we can romance, but the contents of those romances are the important bits, and this is the information that is being kept under lock and key, the 'you'll have to play and see for yourself' content.
Also, there's no, 'do and say the right things' as far as romances go (if we're talking about approval, obviously you'll probably still have to say certain things to indicate an interest), because the approval system has been changed to 'friend' and 'rival' as opposed to 'high approval' and 'approval so low they'll leave the party'. You can have rival and friendship romances with all the LI.
This gives the player the freedom to romance the LI how they wish as opposed to 'saying all the right things'.

Depends on what level of detail you consider a spoiler. Sure we know who but we don't know when, where, why, or how. So we still have to explore the dialogue options and learn about the characters before anything can happen. And with the frienship/rivalry system we there's really no telling how the romances might play out.
On the other hand there are some people who have been on a BioWare blackout for a while now because they don't even want to know who all the companions are until they play.
