Also, do any specialization talents work with unarmed combat (Like Berserkers' Final Blow) or is my combat just going to boil down to stacking sustainables and auto-attacking?
Any help is appreciated.

As a side note though, there are mods out there that make "Fighting Gloves" that are basicaly trated as 1 hand maces so you can be unarmed and actualy a viable character doing it.

You'd be surprized at how much damage you can do with your bare fists. In the silverite mines in Awakening I remember [i]massacring[/b] a mob of darkspawn for about 200 damage each.
So says Mr.120 Str Yrkoon
i wish they had some plausible unarmed combat. It would be intresting.

This brings up a subject I've been interested in. I wish DA had a Monk class. Kung Fu mofos who fight with bear hands (or perhaps a bow staff) and no armor, and special Monk abilities.
anyone remember TKM from Star wars galaxies? :-P

You try punching a guy in full plate mail and see how that turns out?

Erm, did anybody notice my post? There is a mod. For a Monk. With abilities. Why don't give it a try? Like I said, I'm going to, sometime.

Well it is fantacy and almost all talents would be considered supernatural in real life. Just look at war cry. I mean really, you yell so loud you literally knock everyone off their feet? And honestly, even if I was wearing a helmet I wouldn't want to get kicked in the head by a top teir Muay Thai fighter.
I think a nice ballance would be to disallow armor but have nice defense bonuses, and to do light-moderate damage but with very high attack speed. For special class talents you can borrow ideas from many of the Streat Fighter - style games. Like throwing single-target fireballs and helicopter kicks for AoE.

I REALLY love the idea of an unarmed warrior and I choose to play as one whenever a game gives me the opportunity to.
I'm going to take a look at this mod sometime.
*cough*

You can kind of ger this with an unarmed rogue that focuses purely on class talents and goes assassin. Duelist mixed in might be good too.
Rogues are the closest thing to "martial artist" in DAO.
