I just bought this game new tonight and the code is not working.  I'm really pissed because I don't want to start the game before going through the comic but I cant.

So I'm sitting here with a new game I really want to play but can't because of a stupid technical issue...

did you enter it wrong? If anything, you should probably email EA or Bioware and see what they can do about it, or just ask the store you got it from for an exchange or something.

No entering it wrong or store returns for me. Emailed EA support directly and they gave me a second code after the boxed one didn't work and that failed also.



A second email prompted an acknowledgement of the problem as widespread ... Seriously just read the wiki for Mass Effect 1 story and dive in. Who knows when they'll get a fix. Mind you jumping in proves problematic too with the save file issues...



The game is mad good too, really struggling to not play it at the minute.

I did buy a game MASS EFFECT 2 where there is the possibility to acquire the code by "THE CERBERUS NETWORK ", however to follow the installation instructions, enter the code sends the message "The code you entered can not be correct or can no longer be valid. "How should I proceed? The game is new and I'm sure that was never used.

I joined the forums of EA and Bioware and I could see that many people had the same problem, but still follow some guidelines failed to activate the code that came with the game.

Please ask your attention to solve my problem.

Oh how I'm getting tired of Bioware. Ever since EA bought them up in their bid to be come the sole publisher of every video game in existence, the quality of Bioware's games has gone down the toilet. I had Dragon Age 2 on the 360, and off the back there was the issue with the DLC achievements not working and glitches with quests auto completeing and what not. I switched to PS3 during the PSN blackout because  my 360 died for the 5th time since March. I rebought Dragon Age, Dragon Age 2, and Mass Effect 2. However I will not touch Mass Effect 2 unless I can get the Cerberus Network, so I can get the comic to chose the choices I made when I played the original Mass Effect on 360. I waited till yesterday when the PS Store was restored, and the code in this brand new copy of the game says its either an "error or invalid". At first I thought maybe since they just restored the PS Store, maybe all the DLC functions may not be fully operational or experiencing some kind of lag. But low and behold I come onto the forum here, and this seems to be a widespread problem (dating back prior to the hack and black out), which EA doesn't even list as a problem on their support page. EA please stop being overly greedy and eliminating the budgets for QA testing, and banking on the fact name recognition will sell your non-refundable products even though they are busted.

My xbox died too, I have to buy a new Mass Effect 2 for ps3 then this error won't even process my code as a valid one. I hope they can give it out for free due to so many people are having problems accessing their freakin comic or at least give the comic for free.

I've tried and tried, also cannot get the code to work. Bought the game during the PSN outage. Sigh...

I tried to go over with the IM support on ea about it and it was a bot IMing(way too obvious) and didnt anwser anything. Said Sonys network is down. So didnt help much at all. The phone line has a 20 min hold on it

I emailed them describing the problem and how Ive already been given one wrong anwser. Also mentioned there are alot of people on forums having this same problem. Still no word back. Wont let me back on IM support for some reason

Funny story. Got back on the IM. Explained the problem. The guy went to look at it,came back and said you realize you have to redeem the code on psn,I said I did that on top of every other way,then he transfered me to level two support......really? lol

Contacted EA last night through their IM on the support site. Last night I was told that unless I had a scanner or digital scanner to send them three kinds of proof, they couldn't help me. Went back to the store I bought the game, they couldn't help me either. So contacted EA again today, told them I don't have a scanner or digital camera, and I'm on a fixed income due to unemployement, and the only reason I got Mass Effect 2 was because of my bday. First they told me the code I had was invalid because it wasn't 16 digits. Well you cannot enter a 16 digit code on a PS3, its impossible. So I got passed up to a supervisor. Fortunately, he was able to help me and gave me a new code.

Now, if you get a new code, and still get an error message, keep trying then new code. Had to do it about 4 times, due to the insanity going on with the PS Store and Welcome Back program, but it finally worked. Also, don't let EA tell you they can only help if you have scanner or digital camera, because that is both stupid and ignorant to assume everyone has one.

Oh, one last thing, tried calling EA first using three seperate phone numbers. None of them worked due to technical difficulties.

I got a new code from the EA Support and tried it. It said the same thing that my code is invalid and I tried for like 20 times now. Somebody help me

Damn, I'm in the exact same position as you.
I bought ME2 for the ps3 while the psn was out, and now when I'm trying to redeem my code, it gives me the same error.
I've been in contact with EA support and they gave me a 2nd code, just like you did, and it didnt work either.

And now because of me trying my code for like billions of times it gives me the "You used your code too much, come back tomorrow" error. Aww man why didn't I bought the game when it released

Got the same problem too. Bought the game and did get it just in time for the psn to go down. Man, that sucks. I hope the codes will work soon

Well, I'm encountering a fresh new problem. I got a code from EA, downloaded and installed the Cerberus Network, but guess what? Even after all that, the network wont activate in game. So I cant use it or the DLC. I thought it might be the fact the PS3 store was overwhelmed with the Welcome Back program, but I've been trying to get it to run for 3 days now, and I've redownloaded and installed it 4 times. I'm about to trade this game in and put it towards Infamous 2, a game that you know, will actually work and get support from the developer.

Exactly the same problem. Got a new code from EA, downloaded the DLC (both from the psn store and from within the game) but the comic doesn't start. And everytime I restart the game it asks me if I wanna redeem the playstation promo code.

Yeah it's apparently a problem with the PSN and communicating with EA's servers. All DLC like the Cerberus Network, has to pass through the PS Store which recently has been overloaded due to the Welcome Back program.

I called EA support again, and after about half an hour of attempting to solve the problems, they gave up and directed me to the forums. Said a 'Gameplay Developer' would help me here

I mailed them again and they sent me a new code and it worked I already played the comic and I' playing the game right now. For the ones with the issue; get in contact with EA Customer servises and request a new code. If it won't work ask again. IThis code is the second one that they sent me. The first one didin't work either. Good luck on yours.

Hi, I just attained the PSN thing too and it won't let me access the DLC either. So, who can I contact about this or someone I can email? If anyone knows how to get some alternative Red Codes ( Red codes being redemption codes) Please write me back on this forum. Thank you very much!!!
