Yes, i'm not disagreeing with that nor that someone could use such comparison. I just wouldn't consider any of these sample comparisons very accurate (and as such, hardly "truth")Beerfish wrote...

Redemption looks pretty cool. Could just be trailer magic, but I'm definitely going to check it out.

People, take it from somebody who's been interviewed before (thankfully nowhere on this sort of thing, obviously, but still.) YOU FEEL LIKE A MORON, at least the first time. The fact that she was able to be that coherent on that kind of television is a testament to her level of awesome (and experience in the industry.) If the people on these forums were interviewed on live television about Dragon Age, I guarantee, about 99% of us would say nothing more intelligent than, "Uh, there are... uh, dragons and stuff. And ages. Yeah. It's like, really cool and you can be a mage...er..." Some of us wouldn't even get THAT far. Because talking to your friends or your bathroom mirror is not the same as being interviewed in front of an audience knowing what you did can be seen by people everywhere for as long as the internet exists.
Redemption looks pretty cool. Could just be trailer magic, but I'm definitely going to check it out.
Do not attribute your failings to other people. Generalizations aside, I'm sure 99% of us is more intelligent than you.

"Well, there's this other world with magic and dragons and other races in it"
*weird stare*
"You know dwarves and elves and that kind of thing"
*still staring*
"And there there are these creatures called darkspawn, who were originally these mages that tried..."
*staring continues*
"You know... It's like Lord of the rings"
"Oh yeah. I know that movie"
After a while you just say it's like LOTR and don't bother explaining.
At least that how my conversations with people who don't know anything about games or fantasy usually go:( Now that most know the movie you can at least say that. Before the movie I couldn't explain what LOTR was to anyone:p

My expectations for LARP are firmly around the level of lighting bolt classic so that trailer was quite a pleasant surprise, in comparison.XFemShepX wrote...

This.
That footage was, uhm, mildly embarrasing.
LOL, that is such a classic video!

I just watched another interview she did about Redemption. Can be found www.youtube.com/watch.
Anyway, she still used the Lord of the Rings comparison but gets into how it has a modern sensibilities. Then again, the interviewer seems to be much more knowledgeable about games.
And she is till so cute...

I don't even know why people are discussing it.
To pick at something like that is completely retarded, imo.

Amen
And people, what is up with the hurt. Guys and gals, I love Dragon Age and can accept it does share some stuff with LotR. Not to mention, it makes it an easy comparison for people not familiar with Dragon Age. I know it is hard to believe but not everybody knows about the game!
Then again, there is truly nothing original under the sun anyway so just calm down people. Wow, dramatic people on this forum.... Melodramatic....<_<

Fallon on the other hand seemed to squirm and be very uncomfortable while he tried to process what this strange girl in front of him was all excited about.
I'm just glad she didn't go on David Letterman! He'd have torn her apart and not even understood what a video game was, hell he'd likely have not known what Lord of the Rings was, watch a clip when he interviewed Sean Bean.

It's in russian but just scroll down and there's a video player. The trailer is the same but it is now accompanied by the Bioware logo and a small introduction with DAII footage. It looks like Hawke finds an Archdemon? Or is it Flemeth?

At first the idea annoys me, but the thought of a Felicia Day-inspired elf assassin as an NPC or even recruitable party member (for that specific DLC, a la Liara in "Lair of the Shadow Broker") is pretty awesome.
I've never even seen her show The Guild, but she's cute as a button and into video games, so that just about qualifies her as the perfect woman.

Felicia Day's Live Web Series DRAGON AGE: REDEMPTION
Pf...pfff...hahahahahahaha
I saw this trailer linked in the sidebar when I was watching the Dead Island trailer and I had to come here to make sure it was real. It really does look like LARP...or a D&D movie *cringe*. Didn't like The Guild, but I'll give this a watch when it comes out.
Now I'm wondering if they're going to try to do a DLC tie-in to the web series.
I'd be amazed if they didn't.

At least she didn't say the Darkspawn were like zombies. Can you imagine if she'd described Dragon Age as LotR with zombies?!Tinxa wrote...
