Aveline... because there's only room for one female warrior in my party. Also, she doesn't seem like a very fun or especially interesting person.
Merrill... because the new story gave me a bad impression of her. She'll bore me at best, and annoy me at worst. A lot of people are into that kinda character/storytelling, but not me.

No, I can and have answered the question without knowing a thing about them and lots about me. What does the number of players completing the game have to do with it? It'll be an entirely subjective matter.

So you feel comfortable killing someone you know nothing about for no particular reason?

It'll be an subjective matter with an uninformed opinion that doesn't really make any sense.

1: Why not? You know nothing about them therefore there's no reason to be upset by their death.
2: You do know this is fiction right?

haha, is it far better to get to know someone before you kill them off?
To LP prince: a uninformed opinion is a true opinion otherwise an informed person will make a biased opinion.

Situation A- Two random bank robbers rob a bank. You can only kill one. You kill robber #1 because he's there. Robber B gets away.
Situation B- Two random bank robbers rob a bank. You find out that #1 is actually an undercover cop who's on a mission to bring down a whole group of bank robbers. Robber #2 is just another bank robber. You gonna kill #1 or #2?
Because an informed opinion is a BETTER opinion.

The reason will be based on who I am; how could it be any other way?

now Im biased to think that robber 1's life is far better than robber #2 when clearly Robber #2 could be forced into a situation where a international criminal kidnapped his kids and told him to rob this bank or he will never see them again! Worse yet, the undercover cop is crooked! How could you possibly know everything?
An "informed" opinion leads to a biased decision!
btw Im messin with you
