Impossible to say at this stage, but if someone has to pony up and sacrifice themself, I'm going to make sure that either they have a good reason for wanting to or that its someone I'll be comfortable with depending on the situation. That said it likely WOULDN'T be a character I dislike. I'd be more likely to let go of one of my favorite characters than I would one I dislike.
Origins made it easy. I made the sacrifice myself so that Alistair could reign on as King. And in Mass Effect, Kaidan was the elder officer as well as being an L2 biotic with complications, unlike Ashley, who was young and had her whole life ahead of her.
But I definitely hope these kinds of decisions will need to be made.
If you had to sacrifice/kill off one party member, which one would you ? (PLEASE CLOSE )

Varric. Course that means there is no story and the game doesn't start. Why won't my game start?

Somebody I don't care for or that I won't like. I can't tell right noe because I don't know enough of the characters but if I had to choose NOT my sibling, Anders or Fenris. Meaning if I had to, it would be anybody else~

Usually I find myself in the situation of "what? why can't I kill more than one?" like in Mass Effect, where I wanted to kill both Ashley AND Kaiden. In this case, I already want to kill off Varric, Merrill, and Isabella.

Aveline; she's funny looking.

Aveline. That way I get to boast to the Templars when I bust into the Chantry's headquarters at the head of an army of angry mages that I travelled half-way across Thedas to finish off the set after killing Wesley. Considering how little we know about the characters at the moment, that's the best reason I can possibly come up with...

Probably Aveline because she's the character who attracts me the least. But I'll see that when I'll play.

Fenris, though I hope to the Maker I can butcher the emo boy myself.
And I'll be laughing so damned hard when that ogre pulps the Village Idiots' head.
The rest I like and will defend to the death. Hope we get to slaughter a lot of Templars this time around.

Isabella, Merril or Fenris. None of them seem interesting so far. Surely that might change so don't bring on the flame.

Just from who we've seen probably Merril. (Definitely Carver, he looks like a douche based off of appearances, also seems like he could antagonistic towards Hawke during the journey to be Champion of Kirkwall)

I don't like to kill characters (even ones I don't care for), and I don't know enough to dislike any of them. So far I like them all, and even love some of them. Sure, that could change, but why limit myself to the experience. At least that's my attitude. I'm also a bit of a Pollyanna so I like happy endings! I also like kittens and unicorns and rainbows! Yup, yup! :innocent:

Aveline right now. I am anti Templar and chantry so she will try to kill me at some point...

I'd have to kill the "manga kid with white hair" elf just because his appearance offends my artistic sensibilities so much. if I can play through the entire game without ever letting him join the party I'd be a happy man.

Based on what we know right now? Merrill. She's the least interesting companion for me. That could change once I actually "meet" her though.

With knowing as little as I do about all the characters, probably . . . Aveline.
I just assume (again, guesswork, not anything what I know) that someone married to an Templar is going to have some serious problems with my apostate Mage!Hawke.
Maybe not, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

Oh, sorry, Village Idiot!
I didn't mean you! You seem nice. My deepest apologies.
That's just my nickname for Carver. He looks as if he won a lifetime achievement award for the 'Village Idiot of Lothering'.
I like kittens and unicorns and rainbows too.
I've never killed a companion in any game yet, but I might break that vow for Fenris.

In this case, I'd have to say Anders. Only because... he might be better off dead than his current state.
